Cure Your Vertigo Once and for All – Curing Untreatable Vertigo

Doctors really have only one treatment option for vertigo. It’s called vestibular rehabilitation therapy and involves small head movements to dislocate crystals in your ear.

The problem is that vestibular rehabilitation therapy doesn’t work for everyone, and then doctors are out of options.

But a new study published in The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association reveals an even simpler method for treating untreatable vertigo.

Somatic dysfunction refers to a change or impairment in your muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, bones, or nerves that can cause pain and limitations in the ease or range of movement, among other issues.

Traumatic injury to your neck, poor neck and back posture, whiplash, arthritis or spondylosis in your back or neck, slipped spinal discs, a compressed spine, and blocked arteries in your neck are all forms of somatic dysfunction that can cause vertigo.

This happens because the muscles, nerves, and joints in your neck send signals about your body’s orientation to your brain and inner ears.

This new study was conducted by a team of researchers who noticed the paucity of research on treatments for vertigo with somatic dysfunction.

They recruited 23 study participants who had vertigo with somatic dysfunction. They were all between ages 18 and 79 and had experienced vertigo for at least three months. The somatic dysfunction was confirmed by physical examinations.

The researchers divided the participants into four groups: a group that received vestibular rehabilitation therapy, one that received osteopathic manipulative treatment, one that received both treatments, and one that received no treatment.

Each participant received three 45-minute treatment sessions one week apart.

Their postural control was tested with computerized dynamic posturography. The interaction between their visual processes and other sensory feedback was tested via optometric evaluation, and their subjective experience of their vertigo was tested with a standard dizziness handicap questionnaire.

These tests were performed before the first treatment, after the third and final treatment, and three months later.

Of the three groups, the no-treatment group improved the least, the vestibular rehabilitation therapy group improved a bit, the osteopathic manipulative treatment group improved even more, and the group that received both treatments improved the most over the three months.

Osteopathic manipulative treatment can be performed by a chiropractor and involves applying direct pressure to the area of dysfunction or other areas nearby. This can relieve muscle tension, realign joints, and improve the flow of body fluids around the area.

But there is an easier way to treat vertigo with somatic dysfunction (and every other type of vertigo). You can cure your vertigo once and for all, from the comfort of your own home, and all it involves are a few simple movements explained here…

Cure Your Vertigo Once and for All – Treat Your Vertigo to Avoid this Health Hazard

Vertigo is one of the most common complaints for which people visit emergency departments, but it is also one that is not often treated properly.

Korean researchers now explain in the journal Clinical and Experimental Emergency Medicine that this can cause serious health hazards.

If you have vertigo, you don’t need to be told how difficult it is to keep your balance and avoid falling when the world feels like it’s spinning.

Sadly, the most common treatment when you visit a hospital’s emergency department with vertigo is the prescription of drugs like antihistamines and benzodiazepines. Not only do these drugs not help, but they can worsen your vertigo.

To investigate whether emergency departments treat vertigo properly or send people home with a serious risk of falls, the scientists used a dataset of claim information for one million Korean adults between 2002 and 2013.

From this data set, they identified 776 people who had visited emergency departments with vertigo. Each of these subjects was compared with approximately five adults without vertigo to see who visited a hospital or made a medical claim for an injury in the following year.

Among the 776 vertigo sufferers and 3,880 people in the comparison group, the risk of new injuries was much greater in the vertigo group.

In the first month, their risk was 5.23 times as high as the risk of the comparison group. In the period between one and three months, it was 50 percent higher, and in the period between three months and one year, it was 37 percent higher.

These were primarily trunk and upper extremity injuries, some of which can be very serious.

Many previous studies have shown that people with vertigo are more likely than the general population to fall and break bones.

This study takes it further by examining the medical records of those people who had already sought medical help for their vertigo, clearly rather unsuccessfully.

One interesting discovery was that the prevalence of high blood pressurehigh cholesterolclogged arteries, and stroke was much higher in the vertigo group than in the control subjects, suggesting that you may want to address these problems with a healthy lifestyle to prevent vertigo.

It is also important to address your vertigo properly and to modify your living space while you do so to remove obvious hazards like loose carpets, loose objects on the floor, and slippery or uneven surfaces.

Cure Your Vertigo Once and for All – How to Prevent Vertigo Reoccurrences?

One of the main frustrations for vertigo sufferers is that the condition often returns even after professional medical treatment.

A new study in the Journal of Neurology shows what makes us more vulnerable to a reoccurrence of vertigo and what we can do to prevent it.

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the type of vertigo that results from the presence of clumped-together calcium carbonate crystals inside the semicircular canals of your inner ear, where they irritate the nerve hairs that send balance information to your brain.

It is normally triggered when you change the position of your head and causes a spinning sensation.

The typical treatment is a series of head movements that remove these clumps of calcium from the canals, but many scientists have discovered that this treatment is often temporary and needs to be repeated when the vertigo attacks reoccur.

The authors of this study wondered why this form of vertigo tends to reoccur and conducted a search through the published literature to find out.

They found 14 decent-quality studies with 3,060 BPPV sufferers.

From these studies, they concluded that the strongest predictors for vertigo reoccurrence are high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, with each of them increasing our risk for reoccurrence by more than two-and-a-half times.

The next in line were osteoporosis, vitamin D deficiency, and high cholesterol, all of which are potentially preventable too through sufficient calcium intake, vitamin D supplements or direct sunlight and, once again, a good anti-inflammatory and otherwise healthy diet and physical exercise.

Cure All Types of Vertigo – This Vitamin Cures Vertigo

Up to now, the traditional medical system had no reliable solution for the most common type of vertigo.

A study in the latest edition of the journal Neurology, the journal of the American Academy of Neurology, now shows that taking one type of mineral and one type of vitamin together can cure it.

Best of all, both the vitamin and mineral are dirt cheap and available in all supermarkets.

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is the type of vertigo in which calcium carbonate crystals detach from a membrane in your inner ear and fall inside the semicircular canals nearby, where they irritate nerve hairs that then send false balance information to your brain.

Many previous studies have discovered that people with low calcium and vitamin D levels are more likely to suffer from this type of vertigo, probably because the calcium in our inner ears is meant to be strong enough to not detach from its location—this doesn’t occur in people who have enough calcium and vitamin D in their bodies.

Calcium and vitamin D are both important, as our bodies need both of them to build strong calcium structures like bones.

Researchers in South Korea identified 957 people who had been diagnosed with this type of vertigo at H different hospitals between 2013 and 2017. They were all treated successfully with a series of head movements.

They were divided into two groups: an intervention group and an observation group.

The intervention group consisted of 445 people; 348 of them had vitamin D levels below 20 ng/mL (nanograms per milliliter of blood) and were given supplements with 400 IU (international units) of vitamin D and 500 mg (milligrams) of calcium twice a day.

The participants in the intervention group whose vitamin D levels were at least 20 ng/mL were not given any supplements.

The observation group consisted of 512 people who were neither given vitamin D tests nor placed on supplements.

When compared with those in the observation group, those in the intervention group who took supplements experienced a 24 percent reduction in the rate of recurrence of their vertigo.

Those who had the lowest vitamin D levels at the beginning of the study reaped the greatest benefit, with participants whose scores were lower than 10 ng/mL seeing a 45 percent reduction in recurrence, while those with scores between 10 and 20 ng/mL saw a 14 percent reduction.

In total, 47 percent of participants in the observation group suffered another vertigo attack, while only 38 percent of those in the intervention group did.

So, for at least some, the vitamin and mineral cured their condition, while for others, it drastically improved it.

But a much simpler way to cure all types of vertigo is the simple vertigo exercises explained here…

Cure All Types of Vertigo – Vertigo and Anxiety Both Eliminated in One Blow

Over half of people suffering vertigo also experience anxiety or panic attacks, and researchers started to wonder if one leads to the other.

In a new study published in the International Journal of Research Science and Management, a team of scientists used a simple method to eliminate one condition, and the other disappeared with it.

According to one of the studies cited in the literature review of the new paper, around 45 percent of people with vertigo have anxiety disorder, while 15 percent tend to have panic disorder. The concern exists that these problems may become worse and even permanent if the vertigo is not treated quickly.

For this reason, two Indonesian researchers decided to examine whether anxiety and agoraphobia scores improved after treatment of vertigo patients with the canalith repositioning procedure (also called the Epley maneuver).

The researchers recruited 38 people who had been diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) through a physical examination of the years and through eye-movement tests during head movements.

All participants were all 18 years or older. Those who were on medication, who suffered from any other ear or balance disorder, and who were known to suffer from anxiety or agoraphobia before the study were excluded.

After the BPPV diagnoses, the subjects were given questionnaires to complete for assessment of their anxiety and agoraphobia scores.

They then underwent the canalith repositioning procedure and were told to return for re-evaluation 7 and 14 days after the procedure.

Those who benefited from the treatment, which was pretty much all of them, also experienced a reduction in agoraphobia and anxiety.

If you’re suffering vertigo, learn the simple exercises to eliminate it here…

And if you feel anxious, try the easy way to eliminate anxiety for good here…

Cure All Types of Vertigo – Play These Games to Treat Your Vertigo

For most of us, curing a disease is not on the list of “the most fun thing in the world to do.” Doctor’s visits, medications, surgeries, etc. are simply not fun.

But this may all be changing for vertigo sufferers.

A team of scientists from the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and New York University has just created a game to treat vertigo.

And it’s effective, too.

A common way to treat different types of vertigo is to retrain your brain to interpret the scrambled balance information it receives from your ears, eyes, and posture.

This involves walking around, moving your body, and making head movements that trigger your vertigo, over and over again, until your brain no longer perceives these benign movements as unusual and potentially harmful movements that trigger the sensation of vertigo.

But if you already experience vertigo, persuading yourself to trigger it deliberately requires a lot of motivation. What if you hurt yourself falling, for example, or what if people laugh at you when you fall over?

The researchers in this new study tested one possible solution; namely, a virtual reality app with a head-mounted display that simulates progressively more complex situations.

Their study appears in the latest edition of the journal Disability and Rehabilitation: Assistive Technology.

Their app simulated a virtual street, an airport, a subway, or a park, with all the normal detail in which we experience them in real life provided via the virtual reality headset. As such, an app like this simulates real-world sensory environments and thereby triggers our typical responses to them.

The researchers could control the amount of detail their subjects received, from the number of fellow pedestrians and their walking speed to the potential directions in which it was possible to walk.

Accordingly, they could gradually increase the visual and auditory load experienced by the subjects.

The scientists recruited 28 vertigo sufferers. Some of them had a traumatic brain injury, some had vestibular migraine, and others had peripheral vestibular disorders.

Before and after the virtual reality intervention, the participants were given several questionnaires to complete to measure their level of dizziness, their other vertigo symptoms, and their performance on specific activities.

In addition, they were asked to complete the “8-foot Up-and-Go” and Four-Step Square Test. The former tests speed, agility, and balance while moving around, while the latter tests our ability to keep our balance while stepping over objects forward, sideways, and backward.

Unfortunately, many participants dropped out of the study, leaving only 15 who completed the entire program.

Of the 15, 12 subjects had peripheral vestibular disorders and every one of them improved significantly on almost all the questionnaires.

They reported being able to respond to complex visual stimuli with only minimal vertigo, they reported a reduction in dizziness, and they reported an improvement in their functioning when engaging in specific activities.

They also showed an improvement in the Four-Step Square Test.

Two of the other three subjects had a traumatic brain injury and their vertigo and ability to accomplish tasks also improved.

The only person who did not benefit from this exercise was the one remaining subject with vestibular migraine.

Therefore, a gradual increase in environmental complexity in a safe virtual reality setting shows some promise for treating vertigo.

How to Cure Vertigo Attacks Caused by Inner Ear Rocking-Rocks

Vertigo/Dizziness are conditions that have long baffled the traditional medical system.

There are surgeries and there are medications but these invasive methods just don’t seem to provide any permanent results other than side effects.

Recently, however, more naturally focused researchers have discovered the underlying cause for at least 20% of vertigo cases – especially for elderly patients.

The best part is, the way to cure vertigo attacks requires no drugs or surgery.

Our balance system is an extremely complicated and delicate function. It’s based on interactions between the inner ear, the eyes, the position of the body and more. Then the brain takes all this information and coordinates all our senses and movements from this.

If one small thing goes wrong you’ll feel dizzy and experience vertigo in a second.

One of the things that can go wrong is one of 1000 small rocks (made of calcium) in the inner ear moving from the utricle houses (small are in the inner ear) into a much bigger inner ear canal.

You see, these rocks are supposed to move in just a small, isolated area and fire neural signals as we move. When they move to the much bigger area, the signals also become much bigger and we feel like our heads are being spun in circles – VERTIGO!

The trick is to move those calcium stones from the inner ear canal to areas where they don’t create neural signals and the immune system can clear them out. The best way to do this is using a simple head moving technique.

In the following video, physical therapists Bob Schrupp and Brad Heineck demonstrate how to do this technique. For best results, get a physical therapist to do it for you but as you can see, it’s so simple that anyone can help you after watching this video a couple of times.

The downside of this technique is that it requires you to sit up for 48 hours. It also only works for about 20% of vertigo cases (see test in the beginning of the video).

You should feel a little bit better immediately after doing the technique (before holding your head for 48 hours) so if that’s not the case, the moving stones are probably not your problem.

The good news is there are different kinds of exercises that help almost everyone cure their vertigo. They open up the inner ear, increase blood flow to the head and help with balance between what the eyes and ears sense. And you can do these exercises without anyone helping.

The Main Cause of Vertigo and How to Reverse Vertigo Attacks

Do you sometimes feel dizzy all of a sudden and not sure what’s causing it? You are not alone and there is a name for this conditionvertigo.

Vertigo can occur for different reasons and sometimes you’ll never be able to guess what causes it. And your physician might not warn you about it either.

But now we’ve a solution to reverse vertigo attacks.

The most common type of vertigo is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) which is characterized by brief episodes of dizziness. There are many conditions that can result in vertigo including inner ear problems, anxiety disorders, brain disorders and low blood pressure being the common reasons.

However, people with high blood pressure who take medications can also get vertigo! The culprit is the medication used for lowering the blood pressure. Sometimes, the sudden fall in blood pressure in people with hypertension, results in vertigo.

Physicians do not always inform their patients about all the side effects of the prescribed medications. Dizziness is one side effect that is commonly ignored even though it can be a major source of inconvenience for people, especially when they are traveling outside.

Imagine how dangerous it could be if you got a dizzy spell while driving in the highway or crossing the road! Vertigo is a condition you need to definitely identify and treat in a timely manner.

Sometimes vertigo can be eliminated by taking different prescription drugs for controlling blood pressure, but that result in other kinds of side effects, more serious and problematic.

Vertigo is also treated with medications as well as cognitive therapy sessions, all of which can again take a toll on the health or result in more money and time spent at the clinic.

But there are simpler and easier ways to go about with treating these conditions. Actually, treating high blood pressure and vertigo doesn’t have to use any drugs, therapies or devices.

Get Rid of Vertigo and Dizziness Over the Internet

Vertigo and dizziness often goes undiagnosed and untreated for years, even decades.

But a new study from the University of Southampton reveals a simple, easy way to get rid of vertigo and dizziness over the Internet.

Participants in this study experienced great relief from their condition without having to leave their home.

Vestibular rehabilitation has been proven an effective way to get rid of vertigo and dizziness

Vestibular rehabilitation is a set of exercises or head movements that helps your central nervous system and brain compensate for the dizziness.

Traditionally, these exercises are performed at a doctor’s or physical therapist’s office. But the researchers wondered if the same results could be gained doing the therapy over the Internet.

296 Vertigo sufferers from 54 primary care practices in southern England were divided into two groups: one that received the online program, and the other that received the normal care available from the British National Health Service. The average age of the participants was 67.

They were asked to complete the Vertigo Symptom Scale Short Form at the beginning, at three months, and again at six months.

The online program significantly reduced the symptoms of dizziness and dizziness-related disability after both three and six months.

The Internet is a fantastic pathway to work on yourself. We’ve helped thousands of vertigo sufferers completely get rid of vertigo and dizziness over the Internet using a simple set of head-balance exercises.

Our exercises differ from the Vestibular rehabilitation exercises used in the study and seem to deliver even better results. Especially since they work for all types of vertigo and dizziness.

Is Vertigo A Scary Sign Of Increase Stroke Risk?

Is Vertigo A Scary Sign Of Increase Stroke Risk? Because vertigo is so unpleasant and scary, many people rush to the emergency room when it happens to them. But often it is not due to serious causes like increase stroke risk. Read on here to find out about the chances of having a stroke if you have vertigo symptoms.

Is Your Vertigo A Sign Of Increase Stroke Risk?

Because vertigo is so unpleasant and scary, many people rush to the emergency room when it happens to them. But often it is not due to serious causes like increase stroke risk.

An article in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings found that, even though dizziness accounted for 4% of emergency room and 5% of clinic walk-ins, only 15% of these were due to dangerous conditions, only 5.4% to stroke, and a further 5.7% to a mini stroke.

So how do you know whether to take vertigo seriously as a sign of an urgent health problem?

It goes without saying that any symptoms that accompany the vertigo, especially slurred speech, paralysis, and loss of consciousness, should be taken seriously.

But other than those, a new study in the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases has now contributed to the question by evaluating whether vertigo plus sudden hearing loss, vertigo alone, or sudden hearing loss alone poses the greatest chance of increase stroke risk.

They obtained the medical records of 218,656 patients from the National Health Insurance Research Database of Taiwan from 2002 to 2009.

678 had vertigo plus sudden hearing loss, 1,998 had sudden hearing loss alone, and 215,980 had vertigo alone.

They followed the patients for three years until 2012 or until they had a stroke or died.

This is what they found about the chances of increase stroke risk if you have or don’t have vertigo symptoms:

#1 – 5.5% of those with vertigo plus sudden hearing loss ending up having a stroke.

#2 – 3% of those with sudden hearing loss alone suffered a stroke.

#3 – 3.9% of those who experienced vertigo alone had a stroke.

Once they had crunched all the numbers, they concluded that people with vertigo plus sudden hearing loss were 1.93 times more likely than people with only sudden hearing loss to have a stroke, and 1.63 times more likely than those with only vertigo to have one.

When they counted only the cases where the vertigo and sudden hearing loss occurred within three days of each other, the risks of stroke were much higher, at around 2.91 times higher than for sudden hearing loss alone and around 2.25 times higher than for vertigo alone.

This study is useful for two reasons.

Firstly, it draws our attention to the fact that stroke is not actually one of the common causes of vertigo.

Secondly, and possibly more importantly, it alerts us to the fact that we should not ignore vertigo as a mere ear problem if it is accompanied by sudden hearing loss, as this combination of symptoms are more likely than vertigo alone to indicate that a stroke might be in progress.

Vertigo is normally definitively diagnosed by a doctor who examines your eye movements in response to head movements.

But authors of a new study in the journal Human Brain Mapping were wondering what the brains of vertigo sufferers looked like and whether the changes are reliable enough to be able to serve as a diagnostic criteria for doctors to use.

This may not be as crazy as it sounds.

Many previous studies have concluded that vertigo is one of the most common, if not the most common, complaint with which patients present at the intensive care units of hospitals.

People with severe vertigo often panic because they think they are having a stroke, and duly get themselves to the nearest hospital.

Because vertigo is quite common, this can easily overwhelm emergency room personnel, but they cannot send these patients away, just in case they are indeed suffering a stroke and require urgent treatment.

In response to this problem, the authors of the new study wondered whether it would be possible for a computer to distinguish vertigo from stroke cases based on a resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI).

They examined and compared rsfMRI data from 38 patients with persistent postural perceptual dizziness and 38 people without this condition.

They then tested the ability of a computer to predict whether people had vertigo or not from imaging data given to it.

Without getting into the incomprehensible medical terms that refer to the brain regions, the scientists basically found that patients with vertigo displayed a decline in connectivity between brain regions involved in multisensory vestibular processing and spatial cognition, and an increase in connectivity between regions that linked visual and emotional processing.

The decreased connections in regions that deal with vestibular processing and spatial cognition is unsurprising, as your vestibular system is the system that helps you to balance and to orientate yourself in space so that you can move correctly. These processes are severely compromised in people that have vertigo.

Because of the anxiety that results from the lack of balance and from our inability to make sense of perceptual input during vertigo attacks, it is also not surprising that our brains become overactive at perceptual and emotional processing.

The researchers also found, to their delight, that their computer could predict cases of vertigo from brain scan data with an accuracy level of 78.4%.

MRI scans are unfortunately very expensive, so each hospital will have to calculate whether it would be a saving or an extra expense to scan everyone automatically that present signs of vertigo at their emergency room.

However, this also shows that a big part of vertigo is caused by the brain. I have helped people battle vertigo using simple exercises that increase the blood flow up to your brain for years.
