Moreover, scientists found that the rats were more resistant to stress of all kinds in the coconut oil group, leading the researchers to conclude that there was an insulating effect in the baroreceptors in the heart tissue.

Researchers also measured the triglyceride levels in all the subject’s blood.

Triglyceride is sometimes called “the third cholesterol” in addition to LDL and HDL cholesterol, and it’s considered the worst of them all.

The oil leaf group had significantly lowered their triglyceride level whereas the ACH drug showed no improvements in cholesterol level.

So, if you have high blood pressure, it’s your choice:

A dangerous blood pressure drug with a long list of side effects; or a safe herb that, in addition to giving the same blood pressure benefits as drugs, also improves cholesterol levels and many other health markers.

The researchers also found a scary 1,600% (yes—one thousand, six hundred percent) increase in BPA in the urine of the can group compared to the glass group.

Natural Cure for High Blood Pressure – 80% of High Blood Pressure Cases Caused by This Single Thing

One challenge in treating high blood pressure is that there seem to be so many factors that affect this disease.

A bad diet, lack of exercise, high cholesterol, and obesity are just a few examples of the hundreds of things considered to cause high blood pressure.

But researchers from Australia recently discovered a single factor that is behind 80% of high blood pressure cases. The best thing is, it’s easy to tackle this underlying cause and permanently get rid of high blood pressure.

In a new study published in the journal Cell, the researchers tested the effects of leptin on high blood pressure. Leptin is a hormone that, among other things, regulates appetite, metabolism, and body fat storage.

More body fat causes more leptin to circulate in the bloodstream. The researchers found that this tends to increase blood pressure. This is one reason that obesity and high blood pressure so often go hand in hand.

These scientists claim that high leptin levels may be the cause of up to 80% of all high blood pressure cases.

But that’s not the end of the story, because not everyone who has high blood pressure is obese, and vice versa.

The researchers took a group of obese mice with high blood pressure and disabled the receptors in their brains that process leptin. Like magic, the blood pressures of the obese mice went down.

But mice are not humans. So next, the researchers hunted down a group of people who were obese, with high leptin levels. However, either genetically or because of a disease, these people’s brains didn’t process leptin as effectively as normal. Without exception, these people had normal blood pressures, despite obesity.

What about slim people, then? Maybe some people just have more sensitive leptin receptors in their brains. So even if they’re not obese and their leptin levels are normal, their brains still trigger an elevation in blood pressure.

But does this mean that the solution is to just tone down the leptin receptors in the brain (as the researchers indicated)?

No, that’s just another way to use drugs to unbalance your system. And these drugs will always come with serious side effects and mess up something else in the process.

When your brain is reacting to leptin, it is correctly saying that something is wrong.

Being obese puts extreme stress on your body. And a functional way to deal with any stress is to raise blood pressure.

If you’re not obese and still have high blood pressure, it means that your brain is reacting to some other kind of stress. And stress accumulates. Yes, forcing leptin down could lower blood pressure (because it’s one of many influences), but it doesn’t address the real underlying stress.

Only your brain regulates your blood pressure. However, a new study from Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore revealed another cause of headaches. One that is also a cause of high blood pressure.

To test his theory, Dr. Appel controlled the diet of 390 study participants for 30 days. Half were kept on a traditional American diet, while half were put on the DASH diet.

The DASH diet is high in fruits and vegetables and low in fat. It’s the diet recommended by the FDA for people with high blood pressure.

But it didn’t end there. For both the traditional diet and DASH diet groups, Dr. Appel broke the 30 days into three periods. Randomly, each person was directed to use a very high amount, medium amount, or very low amount of salt during a certain period. They then switched during the next period until they had tried all three versions of salt consumption (low, medium, and high).

After each period, the participants were asked how often they had headaches.

The results were stunning.

There was no difference between the frequency of headaches in the traditional or DASH diet group. So general diet didn’t seem to have any impact on them.

However, there was a huge difference in salt consumption. Using the highest amount of salt caused 1/3 more headaches than using the lowest amount. That’s significant.

Salt is, of course, found in the highest amounts in highly processed food, which also includes other chemicals. So, part of the results may be due to cutting out these foods to lower salt consumption. But since they used the somewhat healthy DASH diet for comparison, it’s safe to assume that a high dose of salt does contribute to frequent headaches.

The purpose behind revealing this study is to prove that diet has a direct impact on normal headaches as well as migraines. So, by taking simple actions, you may avoid this horrible annoyance.

The second group used the oil blend, and the third group used a combination of oil blend and the medication.

The participants used about 1oz of the oil for cooking every day.

The results were simply amazing.

All the participants showed a significant decrease in systolic blood pressure. Those who used the medication showed a decrease in systolic pressure of about 16 points.

The group that used only the oil blend showed a decrease in 14 points. The group that used a combination of medications and oil blend showed a 36-point drop.

Their diastolic blood pressure also improved dramatically: a 12-point decrease in the group that took medication, 11 points in those who tried the oil blend, and 24 points in the group that used the combination.

But here is the most interesting part of the research—the oils did something that the medications failed to do!

They caused a drop in LDL cholesterol level by about 26 percent and a 9.5 percent increase in HDL level. No such effect was observed in those who took only the medication.

It is believed that all the beneficial effects are due to the healthy fatty acids and antioxidants present in the oils, such as sesamin, sesamol, sesamolin, and oryzanol.

Researchers explain that ascorbic acid (vitamin C) can boost the production of nitric oxide (NO), which dilates blood vessels. It also strengthens and improves the elasticity of the inner walls of blood vessels (the endothelial layer).

Surprisingly, this information has been known since 1954, when Nobel Prize-winning biochemist Linus Pauling started his research on the health benefits of vitamin C.

According to Pauling, we have full control of our cardiovascular health. Stroke and heart attacks can be eliminated, prevented, and cured by the proper use of vitamin C and lysine (an essential amino acid).

He explained that besides harmful LDL cholesterol, there is another subtype of cholesterol called lipoprotein A (LPA) that causes most arterial inflammation.

Lipoprotein is a nasty, heavy, and sticky cholesterol molecule that slips under blood vessels, weakening their outer layer and creating ruptures.

The reason doctors, in general, pay little or no attention to lipoprotein damage is that there are no patented drugs that can effectively remove it.

Vitamin C, however, counteracts lipoprotein. It creates a compound that binds with lipoprotein molecules and removes them.

This makes blood vessels stronger and more elastic. Plus, it removes inflammation and cholesterol plaque buildup in the arteries.

All this contributes to lower blood pressure with absolutely no side effects.

Interestingly, it was women between the ages of 51 and 64 years who were most susceptible to developing high blood pressure due to negative interactions. Men and women above 64 years somehow seemed to be less prone to being affected by their emotions or more capable of dealing with them.

In another study, researchers found that those who had positive social interactions in the past 10 minutes usually had lower blood pressure readings on average, based on measurements.

So, the message is: Take it easy! Don’t take fights and arguments to your heart. Relax and de-stress whenever you can.

They then compared the rates of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, and coronary artery disease in the meditators and non-meditators to see whether there was a difference.

Compared with those who did not meditate, those who meditated were 65 percent less likely to have high cholesterol, 70 percent less likely to have diabetes, 76 percent less likely to have a stroke, 86 percent less likely to have high blood pressure, and 51 percent less likely to have coronary artery disease.

This was after they ensured that other cardiovascular risk factors like age, gender, race, body mass index, marital status, cigarette smoking, sleeping duration, and depression did not influence their results. They did not have information on alcohol consumption, which can also be a heart disease risk factor.

There are, however, two problems with meditation: a) most people don’t stick to meditation routines, and b) they’re not focused on lowering blood pressure.
