Lower Both Mild and Severe High Blood Pressure – Headaches, High Blood Pressure, and How to Eliminate Both

High blood pressure is usually considered symptomless. That’s why it’s often called “the silent killer.” But there is one symptom often connected to high blood pressure:

Frequent headaches!

However, a new study from Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore revealed another cause of headaches. One that is also a cause of high blood pressure.

If you suffer frequent headaches and high blood pressure, you can kill two flies with one swat by cutting down on this one ingredient, which causes both.

Salt in high doses makes high blood pressure worse. And high blood pressure is often blamed for frequent headaches.

But the head researcher at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lawrence Appel, wanted to know if they could cut out the middleman in the formula. Maybe it’s the high consumption of salt that causes BOTH high blood pressure and headaches.

To test his theory, Dr. Appel controlled the diet of 390 study participants for 30 days. Half were kept on a traditional American diet, while half were put on the DASH diet.

The DASH diet is high in fruits and vegetables and low in fat. It’s the diet recommended by the FDA for people with high blood pressure.

But it didn’t end there. For both the traditional diet and DASH diet groups, Dr. Appel broke the 30 days into three periods. Randomly, each person was directed to use a very high amount, medium amount, or very low amount of salt during a certain period. They then switched during the next period until they had tried all three versions of salt consumption (low, medium, and high).

After each period, the participants were asked how often they had headaches.

The results were stunning.

There was no difference between the frequency of headaches in the traditional or DASH diet group. So general diet didn’t seem to have any impact on them.

However, there was a huge difference in salt consumption. Using the highest amount of salt caused 1/3 more headaches than using the lowest amount. That’s significant.

Salt is, of course, found in the highest amounts in highly processed food, which also includes other chemicals. So, part of the results may be due to cutting out these foods to lower salt consumption. But since they used the somewhat healthy DASH diet for comparison, it’s safe to assume that a high dose of salt does contribute to frequent headaches.

The purpose behind revealing this study is to prove that diet has a direct impact on normal headaches as well as migraines. So, by taking simple actions, you may avoid this horrible annoyance.

In my studies, I’ve found that most headaches and migraine attacks are caused by the lack of one single ingredient. By loading your body with this ingredient, you can eliminate almost all headaches and migraine attacks.

Find out about this one ingredient that cures headaches and migraine attacks here…

Whether or not high blood pressure causes headaches, it remains the #1 cause of death worldwide. It is, therefore, essential to bring yours down. Here is the best natural method I know of to bring blood pressure below 120/80—starting today…

Lower Both Mild and Severe High Blood Pressure – When It’s Fun and Effective to Treat High Blood Pressure

Have you ever had the kind of fun, light-hearted doctor that we see on TV?

You know, the one that jokes around while also being caring, which always makes the visit pleasurable.

To be that kind of doctor, I suppose, the job also has to be fun. And a new method developed to treat high blood pressure does just that. It’s fun for both the physician and patient.

And it is much more efficient than traditional methods.

In a study from the Veteran’s Affairs Boston Healthcare System and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, 111 new physicians were either assigned to read traditional material or use a fun phone application game to learn to treat high blood pressure.

Then they were sent out on a mission to help people manage their blood pressure.

The traditional learning group took 148 days on average to get their patient’s blood pressure under control. Whereas the computer game group did it in 142 days on average.

The bad news is that both groups used dangerous blood pressure medications with serious side effects to manage their patients’ conditions. I hope that soon there will be an educational game that teaches doctors to control blood pressure using natural methods.

But there is a fun, easy way to naturally drop your blood pressure below 120/80—starting today.

Many readers have told me that once their blood pressure was under control, they didn’t want to stop because it’s so much fun. Learn this simple method here to lower both mild and severe high blood pressure…

Lower Both Mild and Severe High Blood Pressure – This High Blood Pressure Trend Is Killing People (be warned)

There is a current trend in treating people with high blood pressure, and this trend has been shown to be both ineffective and dangerous.

In fact, it is so much of a concern that the issue has recently been discussed and debated heavily in the British Medical Journal.

You absolutely must know about this issue if you are taking blood pressure medications or if your doctor is pushing you to take medications.

High blood pressure is treated with medication. This is nothing new.

However, in recent years, more and more people with mild or pre-hypertension have also been prescribed drugs, and this is not good news.

Before we go any further, let us see what mild hypertension is. Severe high blood pressure is diagnosed in those with readings of 160 or higher (systolic) and 100 or higher (diastolic). Those with mild hypertension have systolic pressure in the range of 120 to 159 and diastolic pressure of 80 to 99.

Here is the blunt truth that they don’t tell you—there has never been any conclusive proof that medications are useful for mild hypertension in any way to prevent death from stroke and/or heart attack.

Among the population reported as suffering from high blood pressure, about 60% of cases have only mild hypertension. More importantly, some readings are typical examples of “white coat hypertension!” In other words, blood pressure has this wacky habit of shooting up just in the doctor’s office, while it normally wouldn’t anywhere else.

It is baffling why these patients are prescribed medications for a condition that can be cured with lifestyle changes. Yet most doctors don’t even mention this to their patients.

To make matters worse, these drugs come with risky side effects, including muscle weakness and vertigo. This is particularly dangerous in elderly people, who can suffer serious falls due to the side effects.

The side effects of high blood pressure medications have even been proven to cause heart attack and stroke (exactly what they’re supposed to prevent), leading to an early death.

So, if you’re suffering from mild hypertension, discuss it with your doctor and find out if you can replace medications with exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes. And always measure your readings at home to get more accurate values!

Best Natural Solution to Lower Blood Pressure – Do This with High Blood Pressure, but Do It Right!

If you’ve been diagnosed with high blood pressure, there is one thing you absolutely must do. It will save your life.

According to a study presented at the American Society for Nephrology’s annual meeting in Philadelphia, most people do this in the wrong way, often with grave consequences.

The good news is that it’s extremely easy to fix this error. It takes two minutes.

Any good doctor will encourage you to take your own blood pressure at home. In

fact, you should measure your blood pressure three times a day and take the average of all readings throughout the week.

That’s the only way to get somewhat accurate readings.

The doctors from Ottawa Hospital in Canada discovered a terrifying fact: most home blood pressure monitors are not so accurate.

This means that you can be at home taking your blood pressure and falsely believe it’s either okay when it’s not, or too high when it’s okay.

Both cases are bad, because you either don’t take action to fix things or worry unnecessarily, which can actually cause high blood pressure.

What makes things even more complicated is that most people have some level of “white coat syndrome,” where your blood pressure is higher in the doctor’s office than at home. So, if your blood pressure is okay at home, but high at the doctor’s, you may just write it off as “white coat syndrome.”

The most expensive monitors are not always the best. Consumer Reports has repeatedly rated the cheap Wal-Mart brand monitors as the best.

What is the solution?

Simply bring your blood pressure monitor with you to the doctor’s office. Check your blood pressure using your monitor immediately after your doctor does his checking.

Even if you have white coat syndrome, the reading should be somewhat similar.

Don’t worry if the numbers are a little off. High blood pressure is not an exact science. It jumps up and down throughout the day.

You just want to keep yourself within a general area of measurement. Usually, we talk about 120/80, but don’t worry if it goes up to 130/90 or even higher once in a while.

However, if your blood pressure numbers average over 120/80, you will want to take actions to lower it naturally.

The best natural solution to lower blood pressure is these simple, easy, nine-minute exercises. You can learn more about these blood pressure exercises here…

Best Natural Solution to Lower Blood Pressure – High Blood Pressure’s Strange Side Effect

We all know that high blood pressure more often than not leads to serious diseases like stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, dementia, and ED.

But there is one strange health issue high blood pressure causes. One that nobody talks about.

Yet, it’s so serious that many people would rather die than live without this.

Most of us wouldn’t think that color vision was affected by high blood pressure. Heck, most of us don’t really think about color vision at all.

But it’s an extremely important part of our vision. It’s the ability to distinguish between different colors that look alike. With detailed color vision, you see your environment with depth and clarity. With less detailed color vision, things become flat and bleak.

Since high blood pressure has been proven to affect vision in many ways, researchers from Saitama Medical University in Japan decided to research color vision as well.

They gave 872 men between the ages of 20 and 60 a specific color vision test. Of these, 162 men failed the test.

Men with high blood pressure were much more likely to fail the test. The higher their blood pressure was, the more likely they were to flunk.

There are, of course, many aspects of vision more important than color distinction.

But this study is one of many that prove that high blood pressure seriously affects eyesight.

It can even lead to complete blindness.

The longer your blood pressure remains high, the more it negatively affects your vision and other parts of your body.

The easiest and most effective natural method I know to lower blood pressure uses three easy exercises. Learn more about these simple blood pressure exercises here…

Best Natural Solution to Lower Blood Pressure – The Filthy Cause of High Blood Pressure and How to Clean It

High blood pressure is often referred to as “the silent killer;” its causes and effects are considered sneaky and hard to detect.

Today I’m going to tell you about a dirty cause of high blood pressure. One that, in a new study, was proven to drastically raise blood pressure. And then it was tripled by another dirty cause.

The worst part is that you’re exposed to this, every single day, and without a shadow of doubt, it’s affecting your health.

Researchers measured pollution in the homes of 280 women in rural China. Their blood pressure was then measured, and the two were compared.

There were two major types of pollution from which these women suffered.

One was the pollution from the open fire stoves used for cooking, which raised the women’s systolic blood pressure almost five points on its own.

However, having a highway close by tripled the bad effects of the open stoves on the women’s blood pressure.

The study shows just how dangerous air pollution is for our health. Most of us living in the western world don’t cook on an open wood or coal fire inside our houses.

But we’re constantly surrounded by traffic and often live near a highway. These conditions have repeatedly been proven to raise people’s blood pressure, not only from the air pollution but also from the sensory stress of the traffic noise.

If you have to be around a lot of traffic, try to counteract it by spending time in nature.

Go for a walk in areas with lots of trees and no cars. Your health will thank you.

What is the Safest Way to Normalize Blood Pressure Level?

Safest Way to Normalize Blood Pressure Level – High Blood Pressure Cured with This Popular Food Group

Researchers from Boston University School of Medicine recently discovered that people who include this one ingredient in their diets are 60% less likely to develop high blood pressure.

And by adding this ingredient into your diet, you can significantly lower your blood pressure.

What’s more, this food group is so popular (some say too popular) that you can get abundant sources of it in every food store or restaurant, anywhere in the world.

In the study published in the American Journal of Hypertension, researchers used data from the Framingham Offspring Study, ranging across 11 years, to analyze how protein intake in healthy participants affected high blood pressure.

Those who consumed the highest amount of proteins (about 100 grams every day) regularly were 40% less likely to develop high blood pressure throughout the 11-year study.

Irrespective of whether the protein came from plant or animal sources, it was found to be equally efficient. This also held true for those with normal body weight and for obese people.

The effects of a high-protein diet were even more significant among individuals who also consumed a lot of fiber. A high-fiber, high-protein diet resulted in a 60% lower risk of developing high blood pressure.

So, if you already have high blood pressure, it’s very likely that consuming a high-protein, high-fiber diet will lower your blood pressure, little by little, to a healthy level.

Safest Way to Normalize Blood Pressure Level – This ‘Healthy’ Drink Causes High Blood Pressure and Heart Attack

There is one drink we’ve all been told is extremely healthy. It’s given out in kindergartens as an alternative to sodas.

And we all love it!

But unfortunately, this drink has now been proven to raise blood pressure and increase the risk of stroke and heart attack.

The good news is that if you consume this drink in a slightly different form, it actually becomes extremely healthy. Weird, right?

Researchers from the Swinburne University of Technology in Australia have some grim news for those who love fruit juice.

Apparently, people who drink fruit juice frequently have higher central blood pressure and, consequently, a higher risk of heart attack.

Central blood pressure is slightly different from regular blood pressure readings. It is measured in the aorta, the biggest vessel emerging from the heart, which pumps oxygen-rich blood throughout the body.

But that’s not the only problem with fruit juices.

As we know, fruit juices have negligible fiber content and a very high natural sugar content. When made a regular habit, it can increase the amount of sugar intake and contribute a lot of calories.

On the flip side, whole fruits are extremely good for your blood pressure and overall heart health. This is because the fiber in fruits regulates the sugar delivery to the bloodstream. So instead of fruit juice, opt for whole fruits.

Even better, cut this one ingredient out to eliminate ALL cholesterol plaque buildup in your arteries…

Safest Way to Normalize Blood Pressure Level – 7 Foods Heal High Blood Pressure (and they’re really tasty)

Seven types of food have been proven again and again to be even more effective for lowering high blood pressure than medication, without side effects.

What’s more, the seven foods I’m about to share with you are so delicious that you’ll actually crave medicating yourself with them (ah, let’s put a question mark after #4).

You’ll find these foods in every supermarket and health foods store… usually dirt cheap.

1. Avocadoes are rich in potassium. Potassium is one of the most powerful minerals for balancing blood pressure. And they’re high in monounsaturated fat (good fat) that lowers LDL cholesterol.

2. Apricots – Apart from being tasty just like avocadoes, apricots are also rich in potassium, high in fiber, and low in calories. So, binge on them guilt-free. Go for fresh apricots rather than dry, since dry apricots have many more calories per gram.

3. Yogurt – Research shows that the probiotic in plain yogurt is one of the best bets for good health. Consuming it regularly can lower blood pressure significantly.

Rather than flavored yogurt, which is usually loaded with sugar, go for plain yogurt and add your own fruits in the blender or just pour some honey on top. Also, be aware of low-fat yogurt, as we tend to make up for the low fat with added sweetening.

4. Beetroot – This purple root is bursting with good nutrients, especially nitrates, which lower blood pressure. A study from the University of London proved that beetroot lowers blood pressure within 24 hours of consuming it.

The most powerful way to use beetroot is to drink 250 ml of fresh beet juice (you need a juicer for that). Your blood pressure will most likely drop within 10 minutes of drinking this.

5. Red wine – Many studies have shown that those who drink red wine regularly have significantly lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. However, non-alcoholic wine and even grape juice deliver exactly the same health benefits. Drinking hard liquor, however, tends to raise blood pressure. So, there are no health benefits from margaritas (other than good times).

6. Raisins – Next time you crave a sweet treat, kick out the candies and cookies and grab some raisins instead. Eating raisins regularly drops both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

7. Cocoa – We saved the best for last. Grab a mug of hot cocoa and feel satisfied that it’s as good for your blood pressure as for your taste buds. Consuming chocolate is also good for your blood pressure, as long as it’s at least 70% cocoa and you limit yourself to 50gr/day. The health benefits are cancelled out if you load up on refined sugars or whipped topping, so stick to just the cocoa.

Now these seven foods will definitely help you lower your blood pressure. But healthy eating is not enough. You also need light exercise.

Safest Way to Drop Blood Pressure to 120/80 – Delicious Tea Normalizes Blood Pressure (no, not green tea)

The tea I’m telling you about today is one of the most powerful natural treatments I’ve ever heard of to lower blood pressure.

In fact, two studies prove that it is just as effective as blood pressure medications, without any side effects.

What’s more, this tea is delicious. Although it’s not as well-known as many other teas, you should be able to get it at your local health foods store, wherever you are.

You might want to have a hibiscus bush in your garden—it’s not only decorative, but also useful! A new study has proven that a cup of hibiscus tea three times a day keeps blood pressure medications away.

In a study conducted in 2004 in Mexico, a team of scientists chose 75 patients with high blood pressure. Half were prescribed the blood pressure drug Captopril, while the other group drank hibiscus tea brewed from crushed, dried hibiscus flowers.

After four weeks, the blood pressure readings of all the patients were measured. The modest tea surprised the researchers by showing the same effect from drinking hibiscus and taking Captopril medication—both caused an 11% fall in blood pressure.

Another study compared hibiscus with a different blood pressure medication. Doctors examined 193 participants who participated in the study and were prescribed either 10 milligrams of Lisinopril or 250 milligrams of hibiscus in a capsule.

After four weeks, the medication had caused a 15% reduction, while the hibiscus capsules followed closely behind, with a 12% reduction in blood pressure.

Hibiscus has anti-diuretic properties; that is, it can help relax the arteries. It is also a natural ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor. It slows down the release of hormones that cause blood vessels to constrict. Hibiscus is also good for improving immunity and has many natural antioxidants.

So, you can reap the benefits from hibiscus by either drinking the tea or taking capsules. Be aware, however, that just like medications, hibiscus is not a permanent cure. As soon as the study participants stopped using it daily, their blood pressure began to rise again.

A more permanent way to lower blood pressure is to do these 3 easy blood pressure exercises. Unlike hibiscus or other remedies, these exercises tackle the underlying cause of high blood pressure, delivering permanent results.

Safest Way to Drop Blood Pressure to 120/80 – These Popular Blood Pressure Meds Cause Kidney Failure—and Even Death

If you’re diagnosed with high blood pressure, chances are high that your doctor wants you to take a popular kind of blood pressure medication.

But what if these exact medications that are supposed to save you could cause even more serious conditions than high blood pressure?

Breaking news released by Cambridge University reveals the alarming connection between a certain class of prescription blood pressure medications and kidney failure, even causing death in a big percentage of those who suffer it.

A class of blood pressure medication known as ACE inhibitors was studied in the landmark research.

Clarification: ACE inhibitors are a class of drugs, not a brand, so if you are unsure if the blood pressure drugs you’re taking are in this class, ask your doctor or simply search for your brand.

The data that were compared included rates of hospital admission specifically for renal (kidney) failure and the use of these popular drugs, taken by more than 5 million people worldwide.

A startling, but obvious, trend emerged. More than 58% of the patients admitted with renal failure were also taking an ACE inhibitor.

While multiple factors can contribute to renal failure (such as diabetes), the connection was overwhelming after researchers adjusted for this.

Even more alarming, those who took ACE inhibitors were at a 30% increased risk of dying compared to those who did not take the drugs.

While doctors caution patients to avoid suddenly stopping a medication, they do acknowledge that patients should be weaned off medication safely if better alternatives are available.

The safest way to drop blood pressure to 120/80 or better is this natural way, with no side effect-causing drugs. Find out how to do it in just a few minutes a day with 3 simple steps

Safest Way to Drop Blood Pressure to 120/80 – This “Bad” Ingredient Cuts Blood Pressure in Half

Now this may go against everything you’ve ever heard about how to lower blood pressure.

In fact, this may prove that you were right all along and the doctors and other “health experts” were leading you the wrong way, telling you to cut down on this one ingredient.

Because according to a new study published in the American Journal of Hypertension, doubling up on this one ingredient actually lowers your blood pressure and cuts your risk of a heart attack in half.

You’ve probably heard of the Paleo diet (sometimes called the caveman diet) as super effective for losing weight.

Many people have achieved amazing results from following it.

But there is a bonus; according to research conducted by a team from Boston University, this diet is also a great way to bring your blood pressure down.

The secret lies in the biggest component of the diet – proteins.

The researchers tracked the blood pressure readings of 1,361 participants over a period of 11.3 years. In this period, they found that those who consumed the largest amount of protein (about 102 grams every day) had consistently low blood pressure readings compared to those who consumed the least amount of protein (about 58 grams per day).

There could be many reasons for this. It is possible that those who include lots of protein in their diet generally choose a healthy diet that is crucial for maintaining healthy blood pressure. Also, when you consume more protein, it can make you feel fuller and less likely to snack on high-calorie foods—resulting in ideal weight, which in turn benefits blood pressure.

But that’s not all—proteins also have some direct effects. Certain amino acids like arginine help dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure as a result.

To make the high-protein approach even more effective, you should also consume a lot of fiber.

According to the study, those who consumed a diet rich in both protein and fiber had a 51% lower risk of developing heart disease.

Get Your Blood Pressure Down to Below 120/80 – 5 Worst Herbs for High Blood Pressure (avoid these if your BP is high)

Herbs are good for you, sure.

But if you have high blood pressure, certain herbs can make medications ineffective and push your blood pressure even higher.

Not good at all. Thankfully, these herbs are pretty easy to avoid.

Here is a list of spices that can actually cause blood pressure to increase and are best avoided:

St. John’s wort: This herb is commonly used to treat depression. It speeds up metabolic functions, causing your blood pressure medication to get metabolized quickly, which reduces their effectiveness—leading to a rise in blood pressure.

Echinacea: This herb is used to treat cold and flu symptoms. It can actually change the way medications are metabolized and should be avoided.

Ginseng: This herb is gaining popularity because it has been known to lower blood sugar, boost immunity, and reduce fatigue. But when it comes to blood pressure, it has mixed effects. It has been known to both lower and increase blood pressure, so you can test how it affects you. Or just avoid it.

Ephedra: This herb contains certain chemical compounds called ephedrine, which is a type of alkaloid. This herb is known to stimulate both the nervous system and the endocrine system causing, blood pressure to rise.

Licorice: In high doses, licorice has been shown to cause both an increase in blood pressure as well as a decrease in the level of the vital mineral potassium.

Other spices known to spike high blood pressure include Aniseed, Capsicum, Parsley, Bayberry, and Coltsfoot.

Note that many of these herbs are only a problem if you’re taking blood pressure medications. So, your goal should be to lower your blood pressure naturally, and get off these medications.

Fortunately, there are 3 easy exercises (found here) that get your blood pressure down to below 120/80—starting today…

Get Your Blood Pressure Down to Below 120/80 – Eat This Ingredient Alive to Drop Blood Pressure

If it’s dead, it’s no good.

But if it’s alive, it’ll send your blood pressure racing downwards.

It’s an ingredient that you can easily find in your supermarket and health food store.

Eat it for more than 2 months, and you’ll have drastic reductions in blood pressure.

Recent research published in the journal Hypertension has shown that probiotics are just the thing to help you lower your blood pressure.

First, a short note on probiotics.

Probiotics are good microbes that improve your immune system and digestion. They’re naturally found in fermented foods, such as yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, miso soup and pickles.

This research analyzed data from nine different studies involving 543 participants with normal and high blood pressure.

Those who consumed probiotics regularly showed an average reduction in blood pressure of 3.6mm Hg systolic pressure and 2.4mm Hg diastolic pressure compared to those who didn’t.

The most important factor was the duration of consumption of the probiotics.

When consumed for less than 2 months, no significant difference was observed. When consumed for a longer period, probiotics were found, in addition to improve blood pressure, to lower LDL cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

If improving your heart health means including a probiotic product in your diet every day, isn’t it worth the effort?

And, of course, the best way to get your heart health on track is to lower your blood pressure.

Start lowering your blood pressure today with these three easy exercises. Take a look, right here!

And if your cholesterol is out of control, learn how to normalize LDL cholesterol level as well as clear clogged arteries by cutting out this ONE ingredient…

Get Your Blood Pressure Down to Below 120/80 – Dump This Drink to Drop Your Cholesterol and Blood Pressure

If you want to drastically reduce your risk of heart disease, then don’t indulge in this particular drink.

I know, I know—it might be a bummer, but a new piece of research suggests that avoiding a certain drink will drastically lower your blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Which means living a healthier, better life. And who doesn’t want that?

According to a massive study conducted by University College London, Perelman School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, less is better when it comes to alcohol.

The research analyzed the results of 50 studies conducted on about 260,000 people.

The researchers particularly focused on a genetic variant called alcohol dehydrogenase 1B (ADH1B) that is associated with lighter drinking.

This means that some people who inherit this gene tend to drink less, because the unpleasant effects of alcohol, such as nausea, headache, and flushing, occur more readily in these people.

Those with the gene variant drink 17% less than those who don’t have it.

So, if alcohol is as good for the heart as it has so often been claimed, then these people would have a higher risk of developing heart disease because of low consumption, right?

But the results pointed in exactly the opposite direction!

Those who drank 17% less alcohol had a 10% less risk of developing coronary heart disease.

Added to this benefit was the fact that they had lower body mass index, lower cholesterol, and lower blood pressure!

Now, this doesn’t burst the claim that a few glasses of wine per week are good for your heart, because the study subjects were not always absented. Rather, it tells us that moderate drinking—i.e., drinking 17% less than the average Joe—is better than heavy drinking.

Researchers in India have discovered that a combination of rice bran oil and sesame oil works as well as blood pressure medications—without any side effects.

They presented their findings in the American Heart Association’s scientific session on high blood pressure research.

The group conducted a 2-month study in New Delhi, India, on 300 men and women with mild to moderately high blood pressure. The average age of the participants was 57.

The participants were divided into three groups. The first group received only a blood pressure-lowering medication (Nifedipine) that acted as calcium channel blocker.

The second group used the oil blend, and the third group used a combination of oil blend and the medication.

The participants used about 1oz of the oil for cooking every day.

The results were simply amazing.

All the participants showed a significant decrease in systolic blood pressure. Those who used the medication showed a decrease in systolic pressure of about 16 points.

The group that used only the oil blend showed a decrease in 14 points. The group that used a combination of medications and oil blend showed a 36-point drop.

Their diastolic blood pressure also improved dramatically: a 12-point decrease in the group that took medication, 11 points in those who tried the oil blend, and 24 points in the group that used the combination.

But here is the most interesting part of the research—the oils did something that the medications failed to do!

They caused a drop in LDL cholesterol level by about 26 percent and a 9.5 percent increase in HDL level. No such effect was observed in those who took only the medication.

It is believed that all the beneficial effects are due to the healthy fatty acids and antioxidants present in the oils, such as sesamin, sesamol, sesamolin, and oryzanol.

One Vitamin Lowers Blood Pressure and Reduces Fat

We have written many times about the importance of vitamins E and D to support good cardiovascular health.

But there is another, even more common vitamin that has now been proven by researchers from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to drastically lower blood pressure and remove plaque buildup from the arteries.

What’s more, it works wonders even in the smallest doses.

Researchers from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine recently conducted an analysis of 29 unrelated studies on the effects of vitamin C in lowering blood pressure.

The average dose of vitamin C used in these 29 studies was about 500 mg and ranged from as low as 60 mg to 4000 mg throughout the median duration of 8 weeks. The study trial size ranged from 10 to 120 participants.

After summarizing the results of all 29 studies, researchers reached a firm conclusion that vitamin C is incredibly effective in decreasing blood pressure.

Researchers explain that ascorbic acid (vitamin C) can boost the production of nitric oxide (NO), which dilates blood vessels. It also strengthens and improves the elasticity of the inner walls of blood vessels (the endothelial layer).

Surprisingly, this information has been known since 1954, when Nobel Prize-winning biochemist Linus Pauling started his research on the health benefits of vitamin C.

According to Pauling, we have full control of our cardiovascular health. Stroke and heart attacks can be eliminated, prevented, and cured by the proper use of vitamin C and lysine (an essential amino acid).

He explained that besides harmful LDL cholesterol, there is another subtype of cholesterol called lipoprotein A (LPA) that causes most arterial inflammation.

Lipoprotein is a nasty, heavy, and sticky cholesterol molecule that slips under blood vessels, weakening their outer layer and creating ruptures.

The reason doctors, in general, pay little or no attention to lipoprotein damage is that there are no patented drugs that can effectively remove it.

Vitamin C, however, counteracts lipoprotein. It creates a compound that binds with lipoprotein molecules and removes them.

This makes blood vessels stronger and more elastic. Plus, it removes inflammation and cholesterol plaque buildup in the arteries.

All this contributes to lower blood pressure with absolutely no side effects.

The recommended daily dose of vitamin C is 500–1000 mg. If you feel like you need to temporarily tackle germs, viruses, or inflammation, you can take up to 2000 mg/day.

If, however, you have high blood pressure are looking for ways for bringing down your high blood pressure naturally, taking vitamin C may not be enough to get the results you want. To learn the most powerful method to lower high blood pressure naturally, click here…

Strange Cause of High Blood Pressure (stop doing this NOW!)

Huh. There’s this weird cause of high blood pressure that could be affecting you right now.

Even if you’re watching your diet.

Even if you’re making sure to exercise.

But there’s hope: learning what this “weird” thing is can help you avoid it. Easily, too.

And surprise! Eliminating it can lower your risk of high blood pressure by a whopping 38%.

Negative social interactions can have a terrible impact, not only on today but also in the more distant future. According to researchers at CMU, fighting with friends or family members can increase high blood pressure and heart attack risk in adults.

The study focused on a previous long-term survey conducted at the University of Michigan on 6000 people between 2006 and 2010. The researchers excluded all participants who were previously diagnosed with hypertension and focused only on 1502 participants who did not previously have high blood pressure. The idea was to find out if negative interactions like fights and arguments had an impact on hypertension.

They made a very significant finding. Those who rated their negative interactions with their loved ones at 2 on a scale of 4 had a 38 percent higher risk of developing high blood pressure over the next four years. For every higher rating on the scale, the risk increased by 38 percent.

Interestingly, it was women between the ages of 51 and 64 years who were most susceptible to developing high blood pressure due to negative interactions. Men and women above 64 years somehow seemed to be less prone to being affected by their emotions or more capable of dealing with them.

In another study, researchers found that those who had positive social interactions in the past 10 minutes usually had lower blood pressure readings on average, based on measurements.

So, the message is: Take it easy! Don’t take fights and arguments to your heart. Relax and de-stress whenever you can.

Get Your Blood Pressure Down in Minutes Permanently and Naturally – Relaxing Way to Drop Blood Pressure and Cholesterol

Most of us don’t like making the changes needed to improve our health. If we did, we would have made those changes decades ago and stuck to them.

So a new study published in the American Journal of Cardiology should be welcome to anyone with high blood pressure or cholesterol.

Because it shows the most relaxing, pleasurable way to reduce these conditions.

Researchers from the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, Mount Sinai Heart in New York, the Cleveland Clinic, and the Mayo Clinic hypothesized that the physical and mental relaxation brought by meditation could lower heart disease and heart disease risks in the general American population.

To find out, they used information already collected by the 2012 and 2017 National Health Interview Survey. These surveys had 61,267 participants.

Of these, 5,851 or 9.6 percent engaged in some type of meditation.

They then compared the rates of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, and coronary artery disease in the meditators and non-meditators to see whether there was a difference.

Compared with those who did not meditate, those who meditated were 65 percent less likely to have high cholesterol, 70 percent less likely to have diabetes, 76 percent less likely to have a stroke, 86 percent less likely to have high blood pressure, and 51 percent less likely to have coronary artery disease.

This was after they ensured that other cardiovascular risk factors like age, gender, race, body mass index, marital status, cigarette smoking, sleeping duration, and depression did not influence their results. They did not have information on alcohol consumption, which can also be a heart disease risk factor.

There are, however, two problems with meditation: a) most people don’t stick to meditation routines, and b) they’re not focused on lowering blood pressure.

So, I developed mind/body exercises, super-focused on lowering blood pressure in as little as 9 minutes. The results: Thousands of people are off blood pressure medication with readings below 120/80. Learn these easy blood pressure exercises here…

And if your cholesterol is too high, discover how to normalize it by cutting out ONE ingredient found here…

Get Your Blood Pressure Down in Minutes Permanently and Naturally – One Vitamin Slashes High Blood Pressure (It’s Everywhere)

Getting enough of this vitamin, which kills high blood pressure, might be one of the easiest things you’ll do today (seriously!).

… And for every 10% increase in levels of this vitamin, you’ll be reducing your risk of heart disease by almost 10%.

How’s that for a good deal?

A large study examining the effect of vitamin D on high blood pressure was presented at a conference of the European Society of Human Genetics, in France.

For the research, data from 35 studies involving nearly 146,500 people were analyzed.

The people analyzed were those of European descent based in Europe and North America.

It was found that a high level of vitamin D in the blood was associated with a lower incidence of high blood pressure. More precisely, every 10 percent increase in vitamin D levels produced an 8 percent decrease in the risk of developing high blood pressure.

Considering the high costs and side effects of common blood pressure drugs, this comes as welcome news. Statistics reveal that anything from 40 to 75 percent of the population is deficient in this vital vitamin.

Getting exposed to a moderate amount of sunshine is a good way to get this vitamin.

It is also present in foods like eggs, salmon, tuna, milk, yogurt, and orange juice.

Many cereals and food products add vitamin D too, which can otherwise be obtained through supplements if necessary.

So, if you suffer from high blood pressure, get your physician to check your vitamin D profile.

Adding vitamin D to your diet/supplements can be an easy and simple way to deal with high blood pressure.

But again, make sure you have your vitamin D level tested before taking supplements. Because too much of a good thing is still too much.

Get Your Blood Pressure Down in Minutes Permanently and Naturally – This Herb Drops High Blood Pressure 19 Points

This could be considered the most powerful heart herb on earth. And you most likely have it sitting in your kitchen cabinets already.

In a study published in the Indian Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics, not only did it drop participant’s blood pressure 19 points …

… it also almost eliminated plaque buildup in their heart and the oxidation of their cells.

And did I mention it’s delicious and can be found in all supermarkets dirt cheap?

The researchers gave their volunteers (all suffering high blood pressure) 1.5 grams of cardamom powder, twice a day for 12 weeks.

One-quarter of a tablespoon equals around 1.5 grams, if you want to try this at home.

At the end of the study, the participant’s average systolic blood pressure had dropped 19 points and diastolic had dropped 12 points.

So, those with a high blood pressure of 140/90 could possibly bring their pressure down to a healthy level of 120/80 using nothing but cardamom powder.

Even more importantly, the antioxidant levels in their blood rose by 90%. This is extremely important, as oxidation is the main cause of cholesterol plaque buildup in the heart, causing heart attack and stroke.

In fact, here we’ll teach you how to clear your heart completely of cholesterol plaque by cutting out just one type of ingredient …

But how does cardamom lower blood pressure so drastically?

Turns out it has the exact same function as calcium channel blockers (one of the most common blood pressure medications), without any side effects.

This makes cardamom the most powerful herb I’ve heard of to lower blood pressure.

Eliminate Stress and Other Causes of High Blood Pressure – EVERYONE’S Blood Pressure Dropped When Using This Herb!

One way is to put people under lots of both mental and physical stress—something that would normally skyrocket their blood pressure.

The next step is to give them an herb and see what happens.

This is exactly what researchers from the University of Nottingham did, and the results were remarkable.

EVERYONE’S blood pressure dropped when using this herb!

Cannabinoids are chemicals that bind to your body’s cannabinoid receptors.

The best known is THC, the psychoactive compound in the cannabis plant. THC’s lesser known cousin that is also found in marijuana is called CBD (cannabidiol).

Unlike THC, CBD lacks the psychoactive properties that make THC so unpopular with government authorities.

Researchers recruited nine male volunteers who were given either a one-off dose of 600 mg oral CBD or a fake treatment (placebo) on various occasions throughout the study.

First, they tested their subjects’ resting blood pressure and found that CBD lowered systolic pressure by six points on average.

So far, so good. But what would happen if the researchers raised the stress level?

They decided to put their subjects under two kinds of stress: extreme mental stress and physical exercise stress.

CBD lowered everyone’s systolic blood pressure under these stressful circumstances compared to the placebo, and six of the nine subjects had lowered diastolic pressure.

The study was, of course, small but promising.

You may however struggle to gain access to CBD because it’s still forbidden in many countries and states. But where it’s allowed, you can often get coconut, hemp, and various other oils enriched with CBD.

Eliminate Stress and Other Causes of High Blood Pressure – Hidden Cause of High Blood Pressure

For decades, it has baffled researchers why African Americans overall have a higher tendency of developing high blood pressure.

Even after taking into account factors such as diet, lifestyle, and genetics, African Americans still surpass other racial and ethnic groups in susceptibility to hypertension.

A new study published in the journal Hypertension may finally explain this phenomenon.

And the answer lies in a factor that affects people of all races and ethnic groups.

For their study, the researchers analyzed the information of 1,845 African-American participants in the Jackson Heart Study, a study that investigates cardiovascular disease among African Americans in the tri-county area of Jackson, Mississippi. All participants were between ages 21 and 85.

All participants presented at the clinic for three visits: first between 2000 and 2004, then between 2005 and 2008, and again between 2009 and 2013.

During the first visit, the participants reported the level of discrimination from which they suffered. They also reported their demographic information such as age, sex, education level, and socioeconomic status.

During the first and the two follow-up visits, the researchers performed a detailed clinical examination to measure the participants’ blood pressure and the factors that put them at risk of high blood pressure to ensure that the latter element would not interfere with the findings.

None of the participants had hypertension during the first visit, and they were classified as having hypertension during the follow-up period if they took blood pressure-lowering medication, if they had a systolic blood pressure score of higher than 140 mmHg, or if they had a diastolic blood pressure score higher than 90 mmHg.

During this follow-up period, 52 percent of the participants developed hypertension, with lifetime discrimination playing a clear role.

Compared with those who reported low levels of lifetime discrimination, those who reported medium levels were 49 percent more likely to develop hypertension in the subsequent period.

The scientists attributed the conclusion to the stress that discrimination caused and the well-known link between stress and hypertension.

Regardless of whether discrimination is the cause of a particular person’s stress, this study again proves that stress is one of the main contributors to high blood pressure.

Eliminate Stress and Other Causes of High Blood Pressure – This Fatty Drink Stops High Blood Pressure and Diabetes in Their Tracks

Doctors and nutritionists have been telling us for decades to drink less of this beverage because it allegedly contains saturated fat that clogs our arteries and raises our blood pressure.

These claims were, however, completely debunked in a new study published in the Journal of Nutrition written by a joint team of Singaporean, Chinese, and American researchers.

In fact, this drink can protect you against type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.

The researchers analyzed information collected by the Singapore Chinese Health Study between 1993 and 2017, with each of the 37,124 Chinese men and women having been observed for at least 10 years.

The subjects were all asked to complete food questionnaires and were all subsequently interviewed to identify physician-diagnosed health conditions.

By the end of the period during which they were observed, all subjects were between 45 and 74 years old.

Those who drank 240 milliliters of milk had a 12 percent lower risk of diabetes and a 6 percent lower risk of hypertension than those who drank no milk.

When milk was excluded from the analysis and only other dairy products were considered, people who ate 252 grams of dairy products per day had a 7 percent lower risk of hypertension and a 10 percent lower risk of diabetes than those who consumed no dairy products.

Stop High Blood Pressure from Spiralling Out of Control – Fatal Blood Pressure Caused by This “Healthy” Drink

Everyone is drinking these.

Everyone is loving them.

And if we continue to do this, everyone is going to suffer high blood pressure, stroke, and heart attack as a direct cause of this “health” drink.

So be like nobody else and stop consuming this poison!

A study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association reveals just how deadly energy drinks are.

Researchers divided 18 participants into two groups.

One group was given an energy drink with 320 mg of caffeine and the other a carbonated water-based control drink with 320 mg of caffeine.

Then, after six days of drinking one of the drinks, they swapped the two groups, with the latter drinking the energy drink and the former drinking the water-based drink.

After the subjects consumed the drinks, the scientists used an electrocardiogram to measure their subject’s electrical heart activity. They also repeatedly measured blood pressure from their arms and aortas.

A whole six hours after consuming the drinks, the energy drink group had much higher diastolic and systolic blood pressure than the control drink group.

But the real problem was with the electrical activity in their hearts.

Those who consumed the energy drinks had a corrected QT interval that was 10 ms longer than that of the caffeinated water drinkers.

Your QT interval is the amount of time it takes for your heart’s lower chambers to generate the next heartbeat; in other words, the gap between the electrical impulse that caused the previous beat and the new electrical impulse that causes the next beat.

Since medication that modifies the corrected QT interval by 6 ms must carry a warning on the label, having energy drinks freely available that alter it by 10 ms is quite alarming.

Increasing or decreasing the intervals between these electrical impulses can cause potentially deadly heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

Since the researchers made sure the caffeine levels of the two drinks were identical, the problem is clearly with other ingredients in the energy drinks, some of them very difficult to pinpoint.

Bottom line is, you should never, ever drink those poisoned energy drinks. Especially if you have high blood pressure or any other heart-related health issues.

And then, you should stop high blood pressure from spiralling out of control, using these three easy exercises that bring your blood pressure below 120/80 – starting today…

And if your cholesterol is too high, cut out this ONE single ingredient to bring your blood pressure down within a month…

Stop High Blood Pressure from Spiralling Out of Control – This “Junk Food” Veggie Drops High Blood Pressure

Shred them, and they’ll send your blood pressure soaring.

Dice them and you still won’t be any better off. Because these are killer veggies—at least that’s what “health experts” have been saying for years.

And they’re wrong. Terribly wrong, actually, because this vegetable naturally lowers blood pressure.

Contrary to popular opinion, eating this so-called “junk food” veggie won’t force you to pack on the pounds.

A new research study highlighting the amazing blood pressure-lowering abilities of the potato was presented at the 242nd annual National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS) in Denver, Colorado.

The results of the research revealed that consuming just a few spuds a day lowers blood pressure as effectively as oatmeal, without adding extra pounds.

The study looked at 18 overweight/obese individuals who suffered from high blood pressure, and they were instructed to eat at least 6–8 purple potatoes with skins twice a day for one month.

The researchers explained that they used purple potatoes because the pigment is especially rich in powerful health-boosting compounds called phytochemicals.

Throughout the study, the researchers closely monitored the blood pressure of study participants. The results showed that the average diastolic blood pressure measurement was reduced by 4.3% and that the average systolic blood pressure reading dropped by 3.5%.

According to the study authors, none of the participants gained extra weight from daily potato consumption.

Researchers discovered that certain compounds found in potatoes have a similar effect as the better-known ACE inhibitors, a group of leading blood pressure-lowering medications, have on the body.

Furthermore, the researchers were able to identify in potatoes a unique group of phytochemicals, which also are found in spinach, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli. The authors of the study believe that these unique phytochemicals also played an important role in blood pressure reduction.

But don’t rush to your nearest junk food restaurant to order an extra-large portion of French fries just yet!

The study was done using whole potatoes cooked in the microwave with skins, without oils or any other types of fats added.

Most of us associate potatoes with a high level of carbohydrates, empty calories, a lot of fat.

However, in reality, a potato that is prepared without oil, butter, margarine, or sour cream contains just 110 calories and plenty of vitamins, minerals, and health-boosting phytochemicals.

I am sorry to reveal the sad truth to French fry lovers, but the high cooking temperatures that are used to make “America’s favorite food” seem to destroy most of the healthful substances found in potatoes. What remain are fat, starch, and few minerals.

Even though this particular study used purple potatoes, the researchers strongly believe that white potatoes provide the same benefits. The studies supporting this belief are going to be conducted in the near future.

You can find purple skin potatoes in larger food markets; however, you can enjoy the same benefits of white potatoes found all over the planet.

I recommend baking, boiling, or steaming potatoes if you want to optimize the health benefits.

Say “no way” to blood pressure by simply taking advantage of these 3 easy exercises right now to stop high blood pressure from spiralling out of control…

Stop High Blood Pressure from Spiralling Out of Control – This Delicious Treat Cures High Blood Pressure

A new study published in The World Journal of Cardiovascular Diseases suggests that high blood pressure is caused by one specific mineral deficiency.

And the great news is that one delicious sweet is loaded with this exact mineral you need. Plus it’s full of antioxidants and other health benefits.

You can grab a pack of this sweet in any supermarket or health food store.

The study authors, two academics at the School of Life and Medical Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire, recruited 46 subjects from the same geographical area. 25 of them suffered from high blood pressure while the other 21 had normal readings.

The scientists asked them to record their daily diets so that they could analyze how much magnesium they consumed per day.

In general, they found that all their subjects consumed less magnesium than both the British and American recommended daily intake.

Those with high blood pressure, however, consumed substantially less magnesium than both of these recommended daily intakes and less than subjects with normal blood pressure.

They also discovered that people tend to eat less magnesium as they age, which might explain why older people are more likely than their younger counterparts to have high blood pressure.

Men are advised to consume 400 mg of daily magnesium, while women should consume 310 mg.

And that brings us to the healthy sweet that’s loaded with magnesium:

Dark chocolate!

Buy chocolate with the fewest ingredients possible and with the highest cocoa percentage (above 70%). Sugar should be one of the last ingredients on the label and it should not contain trans (hydrogenated) fat or milk fat and should not have been processed with an alkali.

Almonds, cashews, peanuts, sesame seeds, and pumpkin seeds are also great to eat as a magnesium-rich snack.

Bananas and avocados are two other popular magnesium-rich alternatives. So are spinach, Swiss chard, kale, brown rice, quinoa, soya, beans, and lentils.

For fish lovers, go for mackerel and tuna to load up on magnesium.

What is the Best Way for Lowering the Risk of High Blood Pressure and Clogged Arteries?

Lowering the Risk of High Blood Pressure and Clogged Arteries – Cut Stroke Risk by a Third by Eating This Food (Even with High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol)

There are two types of people in the world: those who win the war against stroke, and those who tragically don’t.

That’s the hard, cold truth.

To win this war, you’re going to need weapons. Weapons in the form of food that will cut through stroke like a hot knife through butter.

But we’re not talking about butter.

Improving your diet and consuming more healthy food is critical for reducing the risk of developing heart disease and stroke. That’s a fact we’re all familiar with. So what’s the food you should eat to deliver a knockout punch to your risk of getting a stroke?

You guessed it! Yes, fruits and vegetables are undeniably the best things you can eat. This fact has been established yet again by a study that analyzed data of nearly 760,000 people in 20 studies conducted across the world in the past 19 years.

The study shows that consuming about 200 g (about 7 ounces) of fruit every day can cut down the risk of stroke by up to 32%!

Vegetables had slightly less impressive yet significant results. Eating 200 g of vegetables in a day reduced the risk of developing stroke by 11%.

What could be a tastier way to ensure good health? The researchers point out that fruits and vegetables are good because they provide the essential micro and macronutrients necessary for the body.

This study focused on a particular type of stroke called ischemic stroke that is caused by blood clots or other blocks of the arteries.

The results were found to have consistent effects on both men and women.

Apart from reducing the risk of stroke, fruits and vegetables are great for reducing blood pressure, improving blood vessel function, losing weight, and cutting down cholesterol and inflammation. It turns out that your mom was right when she told you to eat your greens (and fruits, of course!).

Lowering the Risk of High Blood Pressure and Clogged Arteries – Simple Technique Cures High Blood Pressure (study)

In a new study published in the journal Cell Metabolism, Australian scientists have finally proven, and explained how, a specific breathing technique lowers blood pressure.

In today’s article, I’ll tell you how this technique works as well as teaching it to you step-by-step.

You see, the sympathetic nervous system controls both the rate at which you breathe and the pressure of your blood through your arteries.

By studying rats, the Australian team discovered that those who were at particularly high risk of developing blood pressure during their middle age had a modified or unnatural pattern of interaction between the neurons that regulate breathing rates and those that regulate blood pressure.

To be more precise, those at high risk of blood pressure showed larger fluctuations in blood pressure with every breath than those at low risk showed.

When the researchers broke this unnatural interaction between the neurons responsible for breathing rate and those responsible for blood pressure, the rat’s blood pressure remained normal into their middle ages.

I’m not sure how the scientists broke the breathing pattern with the rats (since teaching them breathing techniques is a challenge) but humans can easily do it with conscious slow, deep breathing.

And it doesn’t take much effort to learn:

1) Sit in a comfortable chair with your spine straight.

2) Focus on the place where your ribs meet your tummy, as you inhale slowly. You may count slowly to six as you inhale.

3) Hold your breath for a couple of seconds before exhaling slowly (count slowly to eight while exhaling).

4) Then pause breathing again for a couple of seconds before repeating steps 2–4 for a few minutes.

Slow, deep breathing is helpful. But it’s only one part of the exercises I teach to lower blood pressure naturally.

To bring your blood pressure below 120/80 you need a more advanced breathing technique as well as two other techniques that reboot your system.

Lowering the Risk of High Blood Pressure and Clogged Arteries – This Fruit Nosedives Blood Pressure and Prevents Heart Attack

Nothing beats fruits when it comes to great health benefits.

One tiny delicious fruit has now been found to be the king of natural healing.

In fact, a new study conducted by the University of Mississippi Medical Center found that adding this fruit to your diet will lower your blood pressure 7.5 points.

Even more importantly, it decreases your risk of heart attack a whopping 32%.

Blueberries carry more types of antioxidants than any other type of food and therefore fight free radicals and inflammations like nothing else. What’s more, they’re loaded with Vitamin C, fiber, and the mineral manganese, all of which are essential for the body.

A cup of blueberries is only about 80 calories, so it’s a perfect snack for people on a diet.

The answer lies in a chemical compound called pterostilbene, which is found in blueberries and grapes. Pterostilbene helps to lower blood pressure, according to the findings of a new study.

A group of researchers conducted a randomized, double-blind study in which participants were administered different doses of pterostilbene extract, up to 125 milligrams per day, or a placebo (which does nothing).

All participants who were administered the extract showed a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The average drop was about 7.5 points.

Note that the researchers used extract in this study. You’d have to eat a lot of blueberries to get the same amount of pterostilbene. But because blueberries include so many other antioxidants, a handful or two a day is plenty to get great health benefits.

Other research that focused on data from the Nurses’ Health Study II reviewed the diets of 93,000 women. There, the researchers discovered that women who included blueberries regularly in their diet were 32% less likely to have a heart attack compared with those whose diet was rich in other fruits and vegetables but did not include blueberries.

Both studies have one message: eat more blueberries!
