Cure GERD Permanently -Weird Acid Reflux and TMJ Connection Discovered

Acid reflux is unpleasant at the best of times, but new studies reveal that it could be even worse than once thought.

Acid reflux is the regurgitation of stomach acid in your esophagus.

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) involves pain in the joint and muscles that control movement of your jaw.

So, what do the two have to do with each other? The Canadian Medical Association Journal has just reported that one might lead to the other.

A team of American and Chinese scientists collected information from 1,522 patients with chronic TMD. 1,522 healthy people provided the same information to act as a control group.

Patients were classified as having gastroesophageal reflux disease if they suffered from at least two days of mild symptoms per week or at least one day of moderate or severe symptoms per week.

They observed that 132 of the TMJ (TMD) patients had acid reflux compared to 61 of the people without it.

This led them to the conclusion that people with acid reflux were 2.74 times more likely than people without acid reflux to suffer from TMJ.

This is not the whole story, however.

Other evidence shows people who suffered from acid reflux were more likely to experience poor sleep, anxiety, and somatization; the latter refers to a condition where people’s psychological distress manifests in the form of physical symptoms like pain without there.

It was also confirmed that people with TMJ were more likely to struggle with poor sleep, anxiety, and somatization.

Although the mechanisms behind the relationship still remain unknown, the researchers believe people could get stuck in a cycle where poor sleep, somatization, and anxiety could exacerbate the pain, thus causing sleep problems and psychological disorders.

Cure GERD Permanently – Acid Reflux (Heartburn) Stopped Using This Bracelet

Many patients who suffer from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, or GERD, have been prescribed acid-reducing medications with mixed results.

While some find a small measure of relief, they are finding increasingly that between the side effects and the limited benefits, drugs are just not a viable long-term solution.

As well, drugs don’t tackle the real problem with GERD, which is acid washing up into the esophagus, usually due to a faulty sphincter or valve at the top of the stomach.

But advancements in treatments are finding inspiration in unlikely places-like the jewelry cabinet.

Drugs for acid reflux are far from an ideal fix. They cause thinning of the bone and can also cause fatigue, depression, and arthritis. But not treating GERD is not an option, considering how disruptive it can be and the long-term risks associated with untreated symptoms.

For many people, though, medications either don’t work, cause too many side effects, or are simply not tolerated by the body. A last resort for many patients is a surgical procedure called a Nissen fundoplication (or fundo for short). This is where a section of stomach is surgically repositioned around the base of the esophagus where the faulty sphincter is.

This surgery is extremely invasive, and brings with it a host of downsides. But scientists now think they may have found a less invasive surgical fix for GERD in a device that is basically a magnetic bracelet for the esophagus.

It is placed during a less invasive laparoscopic surgery. The way it works is that the magnets hold the esophagus shut like the sphincter would have, and when they detect swallowing or food present, the bracelet, called a LINX device, opens to let the material pass. It closes up again after the food goes by.

It was approved in the US by the FDA in 2012 and is already being used with some noticeable success, but doctors warn caution for 2 reasons.

First, any surgery is risky, even laparoscopic. Second, the long-term effects and success of the LINX bracelet have yet to be studied. Some people have had bad reactions to it and it doesn’t work for everyone.

The real frustrating thing for me is that I know from my own experience and from the feedback of hundreds of clients that Acid Reflux (heartburn/GERD) can be completely cured using nothing but ingredients you already have in your home, but people just don’t know how easy it can be.

Cure GERD Permanently – Acid Reflux? 6 Things Never to Eat

Now that we’re past the worst of the holiday food-binge season, it’s time to re-focus and get serious about solving some of our food-related issues.

Many people find that during the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve, they abandon many (or all) of the good habits that keep their digestion healthy.

If that’s you, then you’ll likely benefit from this list of six acid reflux no-no foods that will get you back on track.

If you have found yourself back on the over-the-counter reflux medications because of the holiday season, never fear. Changing just a few or even all of these mistakes can set you right again, so you can leave the drugs at the pharmacy and out of your body.

If you have acid reflux, remember to avoid these common mistakes:

1 – Very large meals- It can be tempting at holiday time to indulge all night long at various parties and family gatherings. It’s part of the practice of celebration. But now that the freezer is stocked with leftovers, try to limit the volume of how much you are eating.

Instead of 3 huge meals, which causes nothing but pain and digestive problems…reduce the amount of food by ¾ and eat more frequently during the day. Snack on fresh fruit and fiber-packed vegees.

2 – Caffeinated beverages- Unless your drink is a cup of green tea, whatever beverage you are consuming that has caffeine needs to go. Caffeine is a known trigger for reflux, migraine, and high blood pressure. Go green or lay off and switch to water.

3 – Sugared soft drinks- This class of drinks is caffeine’s evil twin. There is simply no nutritional benefit to sodas, sports drinks, or juice cocktails with HFCS. The sugar content and the fizzy nature of the soda causes more harm than any benefit you’d ever see, so switch out all those calorie bombs for some cold, purified water.

4 – Too much alcohol- It is true that a glass of red wine with dinner aids in digestion, helps fight high blood pressure, and provides a host of anti-oxidant chemicals, but it is also true that alcohol in excess breaks down the mucous in the stomach.

This precious substance is what protects your stomach from digesting itself as it wards off the damaging effects of the acid. With reflux, you don’t need any help with the acid part. Put down the wine glass after 1 serving and steer completely clear of hard liquors like scotch, tequila, rum, and bourbon.

5 – Milk Chocolate- You’re not out of the woods yet, holiday-wise. Valentine’s Day is on its way and whatever confections you were able to avoid during the Christmas season might be waiting for you in a different package in February. Chocolate is packed with sugar and fat, not to mention caffeine, and all 3 are on the frequent offender’s list for acid reflux flare-ups.

6 – Animal product overload- From turkey to ham to crown roast, and everything in between (like eggnog and whipped cream topping), meats and dairy products are a one-way ticket to reflux misery.

We overdo it during the holidays anyway, where balance should be in the front of our plate-loading strategy, but that frequently takes a back seat to the merry-making.

If you are suffering the flare-ups, remember that your meat servings should never be larger than a deck of cards- at ANY meal. Dairy is the same way. Switch out these high-fat, high calorie foods for plant-based foods like quinoa and legumes that are also very high in protein. These plant proteins are also great for digestion because of their very high soluble fiber content.

A little better planning and a re-commitment to valuing the peace of your stomach over the short-term pleasure of the taste buds will pay off enormously after only a few days of smarter eating.

Eliminate Acid Reflux in 5 Minutes – Five Acid Reflux Factors (and cure today)

It’s easy to pop a pill for acid reflux. Sometimes they’re helpful, but now we know that these pills cause cancer and worsen acid reflux down the road.

So, what’s a person to do then?

Fortunately, a new study published in the journal Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology has identified five lifestyle factors that cause acid reflux.

Change these five things and your heartburn should be gone in a heartbeat.

The scientists noticed from previous studies that many factors that seemed to play a contributing role in acid reflux are not yet included in the lifestyle intervention guidance for the treatment of this disorder.

In response, they decided to compile a list of possible contributing factors to find out which ones with the largest risk factors for acid reflux.

They recruited 1,815 subjects from six hospitals, 832 with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and 686 without it.

They were all asked to complete symptoms and lifestyle questionnaires to assess the severity of their GERD and the lifestyle factors that may contribute to it.

They identified several factors that definitely contributed to the development of GERD and to the severity of the symptoms.

Men were more likely than women to suffer from GERD, but there’s nothing we can do about that.

But here are five factors you can change:

  1. Smokers and people who drink a fair amount of alcohol are also at risk.
  2. People who eat fast were more than four times more likely to have GERD than people that ate at a normal speed.
  3. People who ate past a feeling of fullness had a 2.8 times greater likelihood of suffering from severe GERD symptoms.
  4. Those who wore girdles or corsets had a 2.2 times greater chance of severe GERD.
  5. People with a high body mass index carried an 80 percent greater risk of GERD.

The researchers also learned that you should not eat very hot foods if you have GERD (hot being defined in terms of both temperature and spiciness).

Lying down soon after eating is also a definite no-no.

Now, you probably already knew about many of the above factors, but the problem is some of them are not easy to fix quickly.

But there is one thing you can do today that will eliminate your heartburn immediately. It only takes five minutes and you can start right now. I’ll explain all this here

Eliminate Acid Reflux in 5 Minutes – How Acid Reflux Ruins Your Teeth

As if suffering frequent heartburn wasn’t enough, new research reveals that this uncomfortable- but most often considered harmless- health issue may be ruining your teeth and causing all kinds of problems in your mouth.

So, if you often experience acid reflux, make sure you read today’s article to learn how it’s ruining your teeth and what to do to completely eliminate heartburn for good.

When you fill out patient paperwork at the dentist, questions may include specific health concerns, like whether or not you have a history of heart problems and high blood pressure. They also may ask you if you use more than one or two pillows to sleep at night.

Why would a dentist need to care if you sleep with 4 pillows or in a recliner instead of in a bed?

Actually, there is a very good reason- if you have heartburn and it is bad enough to cause you to have to sit up at night just to get some sleep, it means that the acid that’s causing you pain is washing up into the esophagus, throat, and even your mouth. When this happens, the acid bathes your teeth in a mixture of highly acidic liquid.

This strips away the enamel and protection from your teeth, which leaves them vulnerable to cavities and almost guarantees gum disease.

Gum disease and chronic oral infections can also lead to heart disease.

The recurring infections and disease in the mouth can spread throughout the body, causing biological stress that raises your blood pressure.

Over time, high blood pressure, chronic infection, and oral diseases can lead directly to heart failure.

Eliminate Acid Reflux in 5 Minutes – These Common Acid Reflux Pills Cause High Blood Pressure and Heart Attack

In a collaborative study involving 3 universities- Stanford, London’s Imperial College and Houston Methodist College- researchers looked at the systemic effects of common reflux drugs and found disturbing results.

Not only are these drugs completely useless in the long haul, they’re now proven to raise blood pressure and cause both stroke and heart attack.

Drugs like Prilosec, Nexium and other Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) work by constricting the valves in the stomach that produce acid. For people with acid reflux disease, the over-production of acid, frequently paired with a faulty hiatal sphincter, causes pain and erosive esophagitis.

The drugs are prescribed to stop the acid from causing so much pain and to keep it at a minimum, so it doesn’t wash up into the esophagus. Over time, stomach acid eroding the lining of the esophagus causes the lining there to resemble more like what the stomach has, but the abnormal cell development can turn into cancer.

The problem with the PPIs, the researchers found, is that they don’t just constrict the acid pumps. Because the drugs wind up all over the body, they affect all manner of vessels, including those of the circulatory system.

The constriction of these vessels over time, say the researchers, is leading to severe problems with high blood pressure and heart disease, as well as a thickening of the lining of the arteries, which can tear. This leads to a much-increased risk of stroke.

The study authors note that the findings help to explain why people taking PPIs are at a much greater risk of having a second heart attack when taking the medications, and that the results of the study should warrant further research.

The ironic thing is that even if drug companies are pushing millions of dollars’ worth of medications to ease the acid reflux pain, there is a simple home remedy that will completely eliminate acid reflux in 5 minutes… without side effects.

Eliminate Heartburn Naturally Fast – Heartburn Drugs Cause This Allergy (Study)

Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) have been proven to cause several types of fatal diseases, including cancer.

A new study, published in the journal Nature Communications, reveals yet another dangerous disease. Allergic reactions!

And the danger gets stronger as we get older.

The researchers consulted the health insurance records of 8.2 million people, covering around 97 percent of the Austrian population.

They evaluated drug prescriptions between 2009 and 2013 to see which drug was most commonly prescribed after the prescription for a stomach acid suppression drug.

Shockingly, people who had received an acid suppression drug were two to three times more likely to receive a subsequent prescription for anti-allergy medication than they were to receive a prescription for any other medication type.

This is too high to be coincidental.

In fact, the likelihood of receiving anti-allergy medication after an acid suppression drug increased with age, with people over the age of 60 being five times more likely to receive an anti-allergy drug than any other drug.

Stomach acid is vital for several reasons: it enables your body to successfully digest proteins, and it kills organisms and other substances that may otherwise enter your digestive tract.

When you take drugs that suppress the production of stomach acid, you make it more likely that organisms and substances can enter your digestive tract to cause irritation and infections.

In addition, such drugs change the makeup of the bacterial colonies inside your intestines, which, in turn, causes changes in your immune system. It is possible that these immune system changes can make your body inappropriately sensitive to harmless substances, which is basically the definition of an allergy.

This may be the reason why acid reflux drugs have been proven to cause many lethal diseases, including a few types of cancer.

Here is the story of one man diagnosed with acid reflux caused cancer and how he beat both his cancer and acid reflux using three ingredients you already have in your kitchen…

Eliminate Heartburn Naturally Fast – 8 Things That Cause Heartburn and Acid Reflux (avoid these)

What does curry and hot peppers have in common?

Well, clearly they’re both spicy. Which also means that they could give you heartburn so awful that you’ll never want to visit that restaurant again.

But tread carefully as you sit down to enjoy a delicious dish – it might end up in heartburn, even if you don’t think it will.

Here are some foods that cause heartburn:

Citrus fruits:

Oranges, orange juice, grapefruit and most citrus fruits are classic examples of heartburn triggers. They are highly acidic in nature and increase the acidity in the stomach and cause heartburn.

Tomatoes:

While tomatoes are loaded with lycopene and other beneficial nutrients, they are acidic fruits which when consumed often or in large quantities can cause acidity problems. This is particularly true for those who are already prone to heartburn.

Onion:

Onion is a great flavoring agent and is indispensable in most cuisines. However, onions can trigger heartburn in certain individuals.

Garlic:

Like onions, garlic is also a very good flavoring agent that adds taste to the food. But unfortunately it comes with certain undesirable side effects, and we’re not just talking about the smell it leaves in the mouth. It can cause heartburn in certain people.

Mexican food:

Mexican food is known to be spicy and while it is really tasty and filling, it can have some unpleasant side effects an hour or so afterwards and the major problem is usually acidity.

Chili:

All spicy foods are well known agents of heartburn and chili is no exception. It can be particularly problematic if you consume it in large quantities.

Food with spices:

Spices like cloves, oregano and cinnamon are used as flavoring agents in many foods, especially spicy and savory food. While it enhances the taste considerably, it can also cause heartburn.

Pepper:

Pepper can trigger heartburn/acidity in a few people and should be avoided. Even if you need to use it in any food, use in moderation instead of the usual quantity.

When you get heartburn, try sucking on a sour ball. It produces a lot of saliva, and saliva is good for neutralizing acids. Some safe foods/snack options that doesn’t trigger heartburn include baked sweet potatoes, cottage cheese, broiled chicken and plain toast.

Acid reflux can make every day a constant struggle, where you’re constantly reaching for the nearest medication. If there isn’t any medication, it’s even worse. So maybe it’s time you tried a natural method to quickly and easily take care of that acid reflux. Check it out to eliminate heartburn naturally fast…

Eliminate Heartburn Naturally Fast – 10 Second Trick to Eliminate Acid Reflux

A burning sensation in the throat and chest and indigestion… sounds familiar? But you don’t have to reach out for antacids every time.

No… instead there is a simple, 10 second trick. It’s so simple you wouldn’t usually think of it as cure or solution. But it can completely eliminate acid reflux on the spot. And it won’t cost you a dime.

What would you say if a glass of cold water was all it takes to cut down indigestion?

Heartburn is caused by many things – eating oily foods, overeating, not getting enough physical exercise and unhealthy lifestyle or bacterial infection. The excess production of gastric juices is the culprit, but it is quite simple to treat heartburn.

The simplest and easiest way is to drink a glass of cold water. It stabilizes the body fluids and soothes the burning sensation in the throat and chest.

Be sure not to drink water that is too cold, and also make sure that you go for a walk after drinking water. It really helps!

Another good idea is to make it a regular habit to drink a glass of cold water just before you go to sleep. This helps in the digestion process and controls the production of acid in the stomach.

The most important thing you need to keep in mind is to avoid acidic food, oily and spicy food. All of these food types can cause acidity problems.

Do you have the habit of drinking a glass of milk or any other cold beverage just before you sleep? Actually, it might not be a good idea. A glass of milk might provide short term relief but what actually happens is that the fat content in the milk increases heartburn instead of controlling it.

If you have severe heartburn, another solution is to add a spoon of baking soda to a glass of cold water and drink it. The alkali in the soda neutralizes the acids and controls heartburn.

However, this remedy is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or pregnant women. Soda tends to cause water retention in the body and this is not advisable in these circumstances.

Cure Acid Reflux Without Drugs – Acid Reflux – The Coughing Connection

Chronic coughing is one of the most common complaints that people take to their doctor.

But there is some research that points to acid reflux as a cause of coughing, so Japanese scientists thought they would look closer at whether there might be a link there.

And the link was horrifying.

They needed to check records for clues, so they looked to the Asthma and Chronic Cough Clinic of Nagoya City University Hospital to look at visits that took place between 2012 and 2018.

The researchers left out current and recent ex-smokers, people with abnormal chest radiographs, and those with wheezing.

Patients seen there had all undergone a blood test, a chest radiograph, spirometry, an airway hyper-responsiveness test, or other physiological examinations before a diagnosis was made.

They were also given a questionnaire to find out how coughing affected their quality of life and another about their acid reflux symptoms.

Out of 312 people, some had one specific cause for their cough, others had multiple causes, and for three people there was no known cause.

143 people (45.83 percent) had acid reflux-related cough. (They could tell this was the case because they had typical acid reflux symptoms like heartburn, too.)

89.8 percent of these acid reflux patients also had another cause for their coughing, called cough-variant asthma.

These groups let the researchers compare people who had acid reflux together with other conditions to see who suffered the worst and recovered the fastest.

After comparing these groups, they found that the coughing lasted longer and was much harder to treat in patients with acid reflux compared to patients without it.

In addition, patients with acid reflux scored lower on the cough-related quality of life index (who knew there was such a thing?) than those with no acid reflux.

From this, they drew two conclusions:

  1. Acid reflux is a relatively common cause of chronic cough.
  2. Acid reflux aggravates other causes of chronic cough so that it’s worse and harder to treat.

After looking at previous research they saw that acid reflux is less common in Japan than in Western countries, maybe because their diets are healthier and/or their doctors are more aware of it.

If you are American or European, this probably means that the percentage of chronic coughers with acid reflux is higher than the 45.83 Percent in Japan and that most chronic coughing cases in Western countries are long-lasting and hard to treat.

But coughing is not the worst part of Acid Reflux. It can actually cause 6 deadly diseases – as we explain here (and a 5 minutes method to cure acid reflux without drugs)…

8 Embarrassing Things You Need to Tell Your Doctor About

Look, we’re not saying that you absolutely have to tell your doctor about these 8 embarrassing things.

But we are saying that you’ll live a healthier, more vigorous life if you do talk to your doctor about this stuff. You’ll feel better at the end of it all, and if these “embarrassing topics” aren’t brought up, things could get worse. And you definitely don’t want that.

Here are some of the sensitive issues that the healthcare providers are more than used to handling, even though you might think otherwise:

  1. Excessive sweating– While it’s common to sweat when out in the sun or after strenuous activity, if you’re sweating always or take showers more than twice a day, it’s time to visit a doctor. The condition is called hyperhidrosis and can be treated.

  1. Sex after heart attack– People don’t often feel comfortable discussing about sexual intercourse after recovering from a heart attack. But healthcare providers are more than willing to talk about how and when to resume normal sexual activity.

  1. Relationship issues– Feeling lonely or alone is often considered as a social issue. But this is something that should be discussed with a psychiatrist who specializes in therapies that can improve life tremendously.

  1. Prolonged erection– While there are people who try out many methods to bring about an erection, there are others who suffer from prolonged and painful erections that can last for hours. Antidepressants and other drugs can cause this problem, called priapism.

Don’t you hate erectile dysfunction? We do, too. So here’s a straightforward way to get your manhood back up to speed.

  1. Genital rash– scratching is no solution for genital rashes that can be caused by anything ranging from pubic lice to psoriasis. These problems can be cured at once with the right treatment.

  1. Teeth problems– Discolored teeth or no front teeth can be a valid reason for visiting a dentist. People are not aware that there are simple dental fixes for these problems like filling, tooth replacement and removal of spots.

  1. Binge eating and purging– It is not pleasant discussing bulimia, but physicians emphasize that the condition can sometimes be life-threatening and needs to be treated early. It can also cause dental problems because the stomach acids released from constant purging can erode the tooth enamel.

  1. Bad breath– People often think that bad breath is really not a reason to pay a visit to the doctor, but bad breath is not just a mild problem, it can be an indicator of a serious oral problem. So get it checked sooner rather than later.

Here are other problems that can be a major concern if not cured early. You can treat them naturally at home!

Now you can feel more invigorated throughout the day by eliminating snoring and getting more rest – just with these simple and safe exercises!

Fibromyalgia. Rhymes with siesta, but has the opposite effect on you. Treat it naturally with this easy approach, and start sleeping like a rock.

Acid reflux. It burns. So quench the fire in your chest once-and-for-all with this simple method to cure acid reflux without drugs.

Erectile dysfunction. Embarrassing? Pretty much. Oh, look, you can reverse it with these easy exercises. Check ‘em out.

9 One-Minute Habits That Boost Your Health and Happiness

Having a long, healthy life means doing the little things that count. The little habits that don’t take much time but still add up in the long-run. And turns out we’ve got 9 handpicked one-minute habits you can do every day.

Some of these you can do right now, wherever you’re reading this. And that’s just a bit tempting.

Switch from red meat to fish: Many studies have shown time and again that eating red meat regularly can be bad for the heart and increase the risk of developing colon cancer. However, eating fish can significantly cut down the risk of both heart problems and cancer. They are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which when properly balanced with omega-6 fatty acids, can be very beneficial for reducing inflammation.

Drink red wine: Red wine is very useful for keeping away Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, cancer and Type 2 Diabetes. The compound ‘resveratrol’ in grapes is thought to be responsible for these benefits. The key is not to go overboard and limit consumption to just a few glasses a week.

Microwave the kitchen sponge: While we often consider the toilet seat as the haven of microbes, in truth, the kitchen sponge can have more microbes than the toilet seat! Microwaving the sponge for 30 seconds can kill most disease-causing microbes in it.

Take vitamin supplements: Make sure that you get the required amount of vitamins and minerals to keep away vitamin and mineral deficiencies that are responsible for different ailments like osteoporosis, heart disease, cancer, common cold, memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. But make sure you’re taking high quality supplements since many supermarket brands are worse than skipping them.

Don’t forget to buckle your seat belt: Save yourself from the worst brunt of car accidents by doing one simple thing – wear your seat belt! About 40,000 people die every year in US due to car accidents. Most deaths could have been prevented if they’d fastened the seat belt.

Treat yourself to dark chocolate occasionally: Dark chocolate has been shown to have several benefits – it cuts down the risk of heart disease, improves memory in elderly people, helps metabolize glucose more efficiently and fights against stress and depression.

Take deep breaths often: Whenever you get some free time inhale deeply, take in a deep breath through one nostril, count till 4 and exhale through the other nostril. Do this as often as you can, because it melts stress and calms your mind.

Rinse mouth after meals: Rinsing is a better way to prevent acidic food from corroding the tooth enamel better than brushing the teeth. Plain water or unsweetened tea are good for rinsing mouth and preventing germ buildup.

Sleep on your left side: A study published in the journal ‘Chest’ reveals that nearly 25 percent of Americans experience heartburn in the night. This can be prevented by sleeping on the left side. This stops the acid from esophagus from flowing back into the esophagus.

Getting Rid of Acid Reflux Permanently – This Acid Reflux Drugs Fracture Bones

It is common for infants to spit up their food after a meal, but if they also vomit, cough, and choke frequently, struggle to eat, and fail to gain weight, then a well-meaning doctor may decide to prescribe a drug for acid reflux.

But a study just published in the journal Pediatrics shows that these drugs also put your child at risk of bone fractures early in their lives.

There are two common drugs for acid reflux: proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and histamine H2-receptor antagonists (H2RAs), and they’re sometimes prescribed together.

The authors of the new study looked at 851,631 children born between 2001 and 2013 who were tracked for at least two years.

Kids with cholestasis (a bile disease), osteogenesis imperfecta (a brittle bone disease), and those who were maltreated were left out of the study.

11% of these kids were prescribed one or both of these drugs before their first birthday (which seems kind of ludicrous, but there you go…)

0.9 percent received PPIs, eight percent received H2RAs, and two percent received both.

Those youngsters who took an anti-acid drug before birthday number one also broke their first bone eight months earlier than those who received no such drugs.

The children who received PPIs were 21 percent more likely than their peers were to fracture a bone during childhood and those who received both drugs increased their childhood fracture risk by 31 percent.

H2RAs alone had no effect, but they clearly amplified the harm of the PPIs for the kids who took both drugs before their first birthday.

Those who took the medication the earliest and the longest had the greatest risk of early bone fractures. That’s some disturbing reading.

The researchers made sure that sex, preterm birth, obesity, and other such characteristics did not affect their findings.

Drugs should always be the last resort for your children (and maybe for yourself, too) so try lifestyle remedies before you reach for the acid suppressants. Here’s what to trial:

  1. Feed them small meals more frequently rather than large meals infrequently. A full stomach puts pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter (the ring of muscles that keeps food down where it belongs).
  2. Avoid feeding from bottles with large-sized nipples, as this may allow the milk to flow too fast.
  3. Add some oats or other cereal to the milk or start the baby on solid food early (with your pediatrician’s permission, of course).
  4. Make sure your baby does not sleep with its head downwards. A small elevation of the head might help, especially in the first two hours after a meal.

Luckily, most infants grow out of acid reflux at around one year of age when their lower esophageal sphincters become strong enough to keep food down and their digestive systems mature.

Getting Rid of Acid Reflux Permanently – How Over-the-Counter Acid Reflux Meds Break Your Bones and Cause Arthritis

Waking up with that horrible, sour taste in your mouth and your chest burning with acid reflux, your first impulse is probably to jump for the medicine cabinet.

And what’s the damage? After all, these pills are sold over the counter, nothing but simple calcium or other ingredients that cause no side effects. Right?

Think again, because new research has shown that the side effects of these “innocent” acid reflux pills can be lethal.

Acid reflux is a frustrating condition; and, if left untreated, can ultimately lead to several serious diseases such as esophageal cancer.

Americans spend tens of millions of dollars treating the symptoms with prescription medications called proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs, to quell the discomfort.

Most experts agree that for the vast majority of sufferers, diet is the key culprit. They go on to also agree that changing the way one eats, as well as how much during each meal, can go a long way to naturally end it without having to resort to medication.

However, many people figure that diet changes might be too hard and that a pill is easier- so what’s the harm?

As it turns out, PPI drugs, which work by shutting down some of the pumps in the stomach that produce acid needed for digestion, also interfere with a host of other systems in the body.

For one, doctors are noticing a dramatic uptick in bone fractures and osteoarthritis among regular users of PPI medicines.

The problem is that PPIs are known to interfere with more than acid production. They also interfere with the body’s ability to absorb protein and calcium, both of which are needed for healthy bones and joints.

This is of particular importance to people who are already at risk, such as those going through menopause or taking medicines that also interfere with calcium absorption like calcium channel blockers, used for high blood pressure.

It has also been seen that PPIs interfere with magnesium absorption, which can cause bleeding problems and increase a person’s risk of developing other bowel-related issues.

Further, PPIs have been shown to affect blood vessel health by narrowing the arteries, spiking blood pressure.

For the little amount of temporary relief, many natural health practitioners caution that it just isn’t worth the extra problems the side effects of these drugs bring to the party.

Their advice, instead, is to have an honest look at diet and lifestyle and see if making even just a few, simple changes can turn around the reflux naturally.

Not sure where to start with eliminating your acid reflux, and don’t want to head to the medicine cabinet every day?

Getting Rid of Acid Reflux Permanently – Acid Reflux – 7 Foods You Didn’t Know Cause It

If you frequently suffer acid reflux/heartburn, you probably know of many foods that trigger it.

Spicy foods are on the top of the list for many people. Tomato sauce and pizza late at night might be in there, too.

But there are some foods that most of us think are completely safe that sneakily cause acid reflux without being noticed.

The next time you get acid reflux, just check if you’ve had any of these foods that day. It’s not spicy food that’s always the culprit.

  1. Fried foods: You might love your French Fries, but your stomach doesn’t. They are high in fat content and are the foods most often associated with heartburn and acid reflux.

  1. Soda: This doesn’t come as a surprise, considering that soda is packed full of carbonated bubbles that expand inside the stomach and increase pressure inside the stomach walls inducing acid reflux. The worst kind of sodas are the ones that are caffeinated or acidic, which most of them are anyway. So, try to avoid them completely.

  1. Chocolate: Chocolate is often seen as a calorie bomb or a tooth decay expert. Believe it or not, it’s also on this list of foods that can induce acid reflux. In fact, it packs a triple whammy – there are stimulants (caffeine and theobromine), cocoa, and fat and all these ingredients can cause reflux. If you still insist on having your dose of chocolate, at least go for the dark chocolate. It is a slightly better than milk chocolate.

  1. Alcohol: Even though alcohol is not as acidic as soda, it can cause the muscle flap connecting the stomach and esophagus causing acid reflux. Minimize or avoid alcohol and don’t mix in orange juice or soda in it when you drink it at all.

  1. Dairy products with high fat content: Use high fat dairy products like butter and cheese with caution. Too much of it can cause reflux, especially if you eat them regularly.

  1. Fatty meat: Certain meats like lamb and pork are rich in fats and tend to remain in the stomach for a longer time as it gets digested causing acid reflux. You can choose lean meat over fatty meat and keep it to once a week to avoid chances of getting acid reflux.

  1. Coffee and caffeinated drinks: you don’t have to worry too much if you’re happy with a cup of coffee a day. But if you drink coffee every couple of hours, you’re definitely inviting trouble. Herbal tea or green tea are good options in place of coffee. Try them out instead!

What is the Best Way to Stop Acid Reflux Safely? Stop Acid Reflux Safely - How Heartburn Causes Heart Attack (be warned). But it might not be linked in the way you think.
DISCOVER HOW, FIVE MINUTES FROM NOW, YOUR ACID REFLUX CAN BE TOTALLY GONE & YOU’LL FEEL GREAT NIGHT AND DAY

Stop Acid Reflux Safely – Most Common Acid Reflux Treatment is Lethal

The most common treatment for acid reflux is a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs. The latest estimates suggest that 15 million Americans are taking one of these drugs on prescription, and that’s without counting users who get them over the counter, so the actual figure could be even higher.

This is disturbing because a new study in the journal BMJ now shows that this abundantly used drug type increases your risk of death from a whole range of serious chronic conditions.

American researchers looked at data collected by the American Department of Veterans Affairs between 2002 and 2004. They found that doctors had prescribed PPIs for 157,625 people and H2 blockers (another type of acid reflux drug) for 56,842 others.

They noticed an extra 45.2 (per 1000) more deaths in the PPI group compared to the H2 blocker group, which shows pretty clearly that PPIs pose a greater risk of death.

They further break that down into 17.47 circulatory system deaths, 12.94 cancer deaths, 4.2 infectious and parasitic disease deaths, 6.25 reproductive and urinary systems deaths, 15.48 cardiovascular disease deaths, and a small number from chronic kidney disease.

For some people it wasn’t clear from the medical documents why PPI had been prescribed, but for that group we know that an extra 22.91/1000 of them died from cardiovascular disease, 4.74 from chronic kidney disease, and 3.12 from stomach and esophageal cancers.

These statistics held true for people who had a history of these diseases as well as those that didn’t.

It seems that the longer people took PPIs, the higher their risk of death from cancer, and from diseases of the circulatory and reproductive and urinary systems too. And this was true even for those people who took very low doses, so they’re bad news no matter how little you take.

The most common PPIs are Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium, Aciphex, Zegerid, Dexilant, and Protonix.

These drugs are used to suppress stomach acid production when too much washes up into your esophagus and throat. Unfortunately, it seems that they do a lot more besides, and researchers have pointed out these dangers several times before.

Scientists don’t know exactly why PPIs are so dangerous, but the new study proposes some possibilities:

PPIs alter our gut bacteria by killing some and allowing others to flourish.

They damage the endothelial cells that line our blood vessels and lymph nodes, and they cause those cells to die faster.

They increase oxidative stress.

They disrupt normal cell growth, which might lead to cells becoming cancerous.

They destroy the immune cells in the mucous of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Whatever the cause may be, it is clear that you are probably going to be safer if you don’t take these drugs at all.

It’s better to stop acid reflux safely, and you can achieve that using this innovative and proven approach…

Stop Acid Reflux Safely – Why You’re NOT Sick Despite Your Doctor’s Diagnosis

You are probably much healthier than your doctor thinks. And most certainly a lot healthier than your collection of prescription medicines suggests.

In fact, you are probably much healthier than you have been led yourself to believe.

Dr. Teppo Jarvinen, of the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma at the University of Helsinki, wrote an article in a recent British Medical Journal that argued that it has become the norm for doctors to prescribe medicine, not because you are sick, but because you might get sick.

In other words, drugs are prescribed not for existing conditions, but to prevent ones that have not yet happened. Prevention of something that may or may not happen has now become a disease in itself.

For this reason, where a British hospital chart used to have room for five medications, it now has room for 30, and the British medical system is responsible for 18 drug prescriptions per person per year. The rest of the Western world is probably in a similar situation.

Osteoporosis is a good example, with many women being prescribed drugs to prevent the loss of bone mineral density in their postmenopausal years when they are supposedly at increased risk of osteopenia or osteoporosis. But as a thorough literature review in the May 2015 edition of the Journal of Internal Medicine reveals:

– 85 percent of fractures in elderly women are not due to osteoporosis but to falls because of muscle weakness
– Bone mineral density does not predict fractures in the elderly
– Osteoporosis drugs do not prevent fractures anyway.

Given that the drugs are expensive and far from side effect-free, the massive over-prescription of these drugs seems unjustified.

According to a 2008 article in the British Medical Journal, up to 70 percent of people with prescriptions for proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) have neither stomach ulcers, nor a chronic inflammatory condition that justifies the PPI prescriptions. It is not supposed to be given to people to prevent occasional heartburn after fatty meals.

If you suffer frequent heartburn/acid reflux and want to stop acid reflux safely, click here…

Health authorities in the U.S., Britain, Australia, and many other countries around the world recommend that statins (cholesterol drugs) be prescribed for healthy people to prevent cardiovascular disease, even if they have only a 10 percent chance of developing it (7.5 percent in the U.S).

Meanwhile, after conducting a thorough literature review, medical specialists argued in a 2013 edition of the British Medical Journal that healthy people with a smaller than 20 percent risk of cardiovascular disease do not benefit from statins and that these drugs do not change the age at which they die or even the severity of the cardiovascular complaints from which they suffer later.

To lower your cholesterol naturally and clear out clogged arteries, click here…

All these are cases where drugs are prescribed to prevent, rather than to cure. Even worse, in some of these cases research shows that they do not have a preventative effect, anyway.

There are many reasons for thinking that overprescription is a bad idea.

Most importantly, if people are put on drugs, they may not be as motivated to change their lifestyles to prevent diseases. If you know you can take a proton pump inhibitor afterwards, you won’t even think of preventing heartburn by skipping the fatty meal. This holds even more strongly for regular exercise to increase muscle strength and decrease fracture-causing falls, and for healthy dieting to reduce cholesterol. Drugs replace behavior modification and healthy lifestyles.

Furthermore, virtually all drugs have side effects. They clash with each other. They overwork your liver and kidneys that must break them down and excrete them.

Finally, they drive up the revenue that governments and private health insurers spend on healthcare. This leads to higher taxation and higher insurance premiums.

One of the most over-medicated conditions is high blood pressure. Click here for the simplest, natural method to lower yours in 9 minutes…

Stop Acid Reflux Safely – How Heartburn Causes Heart Attack (be warned)

A new mega-study involving over 3 million people has uncovered a strong and convincing link between heart attack and people who suffer heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion.

But it might not be linked in the way you think.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, affects more than 20 million Americans. Likely, there are many millions more suffering, but the 20 million estimate is the number who are currently prescribed a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

What is alarming, and what the study found, is that people taking these drugs are at a 20% increased risk of suffering a heart attack as compared to those who don’t take the drugs.

PPIs are drugs better known as Prilosec, Nexium, and Prevacid, among others. The increased risk is caused by the drugs’ effect on the lining of blood vessel walls. This interferes with blood flow, leading to a dramatically increased risk of having a heart attack.

It doesn’t take dangerous medications to get rid of GERD, acid reflux / heartburn, indigestion and other similar diseases.

Cure Your Heartburn and Acid Reflux – Fatal Effects of Acid Reflux (Study)

If a new study in the journal Clinical Otolaryngology is right, the Gastroesophageal reflux disease is not just uncomfortable and painful, it can also be potentially fatal.

In fact, it was found to increase your risk of this fatal disease by a scary 232%.

Fortunately, there are easy steps to avoid this if implemented in the early stages.

A team of Korean researchers tested the relationship between acid reflux and a range of head and neck cancers.

They ran two separate studies.

They collected medical information from the Korean National Health Insurance Service National Sample Cohort from 2002 to 2013. All the patients considered were older than 40, since this is the age where these forms of cancer become more common.

In the first study, they identified patients with acid reflux who had sought treatment and matched them with twice as many people from the general population without acid reflux. They then checked on who went on to develop cancer of the lips, oral cavities, oropharynx, hypopharynx, and larynx.

In the second study, they identified people with larynx cancer, matching them with four times as many people without cancer, and then corresponded this with who had a history of acid reflux.

In the first study, they found that people with acid reflux were 2.32 times more likely than healthy people to develop cancer of the larynx.

Cancers of the lips, oral cavities, oropharynx, and hypopharynx were not more common in the acid reflux group.

In the second study, they found that people with cancer of the larynx were 2.03 times more likely to have a history of acid reflux than those without this type of cancer.

This definitely suggests that acid reflux poses a serious risk for larynx cancer.

But larynx cancer is not the only danger, nor is acid reflux. In fact, another study has shown that you are one thousand, three hundred, and forty-five percent more likely to get one of six other fatal types of cancers.

I’ll explain all this here, along with how to rid yourself of acid reflux in as little as five minutes

Cure Your Heartburn and Acid Reflux – Does This Common Vegetable Cure Everything?

One vegetable has been identified as literal ‘superhero’ among all nutritious and beneficial food sources.

Eat it regularly and you can drive away a whole range of health issues such as: arthritis, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and even ED.

Plus it’s one of the most powerful weight loss secrets I known (and I know many).

Celery is one of the most nutritious and hydrating vegetable you can consume.

Celery leaves are a good source of vitamin A whereas the stems are rich in vitamin B1, B2, B6 and C. Apart from being a vitamin powerhouse celery is rich in the minerals calcium, iron, phosphorus and sodium. It is also a good source of amino acids, plant hormones and essential oils that give celery its characteristic smell.

The sodium content in celery is very different from the table salt most of us consume too much of. In celery, it is present in an organic form that is soluble and essential for body salt balance. Celery juice, in fact, is an excellent rehydration drink (forget the sport drinks, and try this one the next time) that replenishes the salt lost due to activity.

Below are just few of the amazing benefits of celery:

– Celery is loaded with at least 8 anti-cancer compounds that fight against different types of cancer including prostate, colon and stomach cancer.

– It lowers cholesterol by as much as 7 points even when just 2 small stalks of celery are consumed every day.

– Celery is a natural laxative that improves digestion and relieves constipation. It also relaxes nerves stressed out by artificial laxatives.

Suffering IBS? Here is how to cure it naturally…

And to cure your heartburn and acid reflux click here…

– The sodium and potassium minerals present in celery helps regulate body fluid.

– Celery is a great food source for reducing inflammation caused by different ailments like arthritis, sinusitis, gout, asthma and bronchitis.

Arthritis? Here is how to cure it naturally in 21 days…

– Drinking a glass of celery juice every day for one week results a serious drop in blood pressure.

Cure Your Heartburn and Acid Reflux – 10 Second Trick to Eliminate Acid Reflux

A burning sensation in the throat and chest and indigestion… sound familiar? But you don’t have to reach out for antacids every time.

No… instead there is a simple, 10 second trick. It’s so simple you wouldn’t usually think of it as cure or solution.

But it can completely eliminate acid reflux on the spot. And it won’t cost you a dime.

Cure Acid Reflux and GERD – This Natural Acid Reflux Treatment Beats Drugs

There are some medications for acid reflux. They do, however, come with rows of dangerous side effects and are ineffective for many people.

Natural methods often require major diet changes, along with other unpleasant and inconvenient changes.

And this brings us to a recent study, which proves that a simple natural treatment is more effective than drugs.

Even better, it requires no diet change, no drugs, no supplements, and no lifestyle changes.

Acupuncture treatment may not sound fun, but it is becoming increasingly common in Western countries. Now, a new study in the Journal Zhen ci yan jiu = Acupuncture research backs it as the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.

They recruited 60 subjects suffering from this form of acid reflux and divided them into two groups of 30 volunteers each.

The treatment group underwent an acupuncture session every other day for eight weeks. The medication group took two 20 mg omeprazole capsules per day for the same period.

The subjects were also given questionnaires to assess them on a variety of symptoms including heartburn, pain, acid regurgitation, food regurgitation, cough, and physiological, psychological and social functioning before and after the intervention.

The symptoms of people in both groups improved from the beginning to the end of the study, but the acupuncture group was found to have improved a lot more.

Compared with the medication group, they improved every aspect studied, from pain to regurgitation, to cough, to physical, psychological, and social functioning. And all without any risk of medicinal side effects.

The researchers further suggested that the acupuncture would not have to continue at the frequency of three treatments per week once the condition has been brought under control. After all, few people would consider that to be a tolerable commitment of time and effort.

Now if you don’t feel like visiting the acupuncturist every other day, then here is an easy formula that works better for acid reflux. Best of all, you can cure acid reflux and GERD in 5 minutes and you already have all the ingredients you need right in your kitchen…

Cure Acid Reflux and GERD – Acid Reflux Causes 6 Lethal Cancers

Most often we think of Acid Reflux or heartburn as mere inconvenience. It may keep you up at night and prevent you from enjoying a good meal but it’s not dangerous.

Okay, it’s been linked to ulcer but we’re talking about something much more serious.

New study published in journal JAMA Otolaryngology: Head & Neck Surgery, proves that acid reflux increases your risk of six types of cancers by up to 286% (almost as bad as smoking).

The Louisiana researchers used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Medicare database to identify 13,805 people with upper airway and upper digestive tract cancers who were added to the database between 2003 and 2011.

They were all 66 years and older.

They examined them for GERD and compared them with a randomly picked group of 13,805 Medicare beneficiaries without cancer or GERD.

GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease), is a very common digestive disorder that most often the cause of acid reflux or heartburn.

They found that elderly people with GERD were, compared to those without GERD:

– 2.86 times more likely to have cancer of the larynx
– 2.54 times more likely to have cancer of the hypopharynx
– 2.47 times more likely to have cancer of the oropharynx
– 2.14 times more likely to have cancer of the tonsils
– 2.04 times more likely to have cancer of the nasopharynx, and
– 1.40 times more likely to have cancer of the sinuses.

All these structures are in the back of your throat or at the top of your esophagus.

The reason acid reflux can almost triple your risk of these cancers is that it lets strong stomach acid run up to your throat, damaging the cells in that area. It’s in essence the same as exposing your cells to strong chemicals.

This shows that acid reflux (GERD) should not be treated lightly. If you have frequent heartburn, you should take immediate action to cure your condition.

Here is a simple formula I used to cure acid reflux and GERD works for almost everyone in 5 minutes or less…

Cure Acid Reflux and GERD – Innocent Heartburn Drugs Found Deadly (new study)

Most people experience a little heartburn (acid reflux) once in a while. Nothing serious, right?

And why not grab a couple of common heartburn pills. Can’t do any harm, right?

Deadly wrong!

Because the journal BMJ Open recently published a study by researchers from the Saint Louis Health Care System, Washington University School of Medicine at Saint Louis, and Saint Louis University that suggests that taking one popular kind of acid reflux drug will increase your risk of dying soon by 25%.

Researchers used data collected by the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs to identify people who had been prescribed a proton pump inhibitor (or PPI) and people who had been prescribed an H2 blocker.

Like PPI, H2 blockers also prevent the cells of your stomach from producing acid, but they are considered to be weaker and safer than PPIs.

The 349,312 subjects were followed for five years.

Compared with those who took H2 blockers, those who took PPIs had a 25% greater chance of dying during that five-year period.

The risk of death was not associated with any specific cause of death. They were just more likely to die of any cause.

Approximately 8% of American adults take PPIs, often unnecessarily and under almost no medical supervision. So, a 25% or higher risk of death translates to thousands of deaths per year.

Eliminate Acid Reflux Symptoms – This Common Acid Reflux Drug Kills (New study)

A new study from the University of California at San Diego put two acid reflux medications head to head to see which led to more serious side effects.

And the results were horrifying!

While both were bad, the most commonly prescribed acid reflux drug increases your risk of kidney failure by a scary 3,550%.

And that was only the beginning.

Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) were considered to be the stronger of the two drugs tested.

It includes generic names like omeprazole, lansoprazole, dexlansoprazole, rabeprazole, pantoprazole, esomeprazole, and esomeprazole.

Histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2 blockers) were considered to be weaker and include generic names, such as nizatidine, famotidine, cimetidine, and ranitidine.

For scientists, there are two sources where there was potential to search for potential side effects of drugs:

The first are the clinical trials, where people are given the drugs to try and in which all the side effects are recorded.

The second is the Adverse Effect Reporting System (FAERS), which is a collection of all the post-marketing information collected on a drug by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Since FAERS includes substantially more information that is collected from a markedly larger group of people who take drugs, and these also include a much longer than the subjects in clinical trials, the authors of the new study mined it for information.

They identified around 43,000 PPI-takers and compared them with 8,000 H2 blockers-takers in the database.

It turned out that while only 0.7 percent of h2 blocker consumers experienced adverse kidney conditions, 5.6 percent of PPI-takers did.

Compared with those who took h2 blockers, those who took PPIs were 35.5 times more likely to have end-stage renal disease, 28.4 times more likely to have chronic kidney disease, eight times more likely to have unspecified kidney impairment, and 4.3 times more likely to have acute kidney injury.

Acid reflux is no joking matter. It can directly cause six types of deadly diseases on its own, and the drugs used to treat it are even more dangerous. Here is how I beat my acid reflux (after it almost killed me)…

Eliminate Acid Reflux Symptoms – Acid Reflux Drug’s Deadly Side-Effects

Acid reflux (GERD) is often written off as a minor condition (although it’s actually very serious). And the drugs used to manage it have been considered quite safe.

But a new study published in the journal Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics reveals potentially deadly side effects with one of the most commonly used heartburn medications.

You must stop or reduce this drug right now if you’re taking it.

Proton pump inhibitors (hereafter PPIs) are among the most commonly taken drugs in the developed world, often to reduce acid reflux.

Researchers examined the medical data of 2,366 people who took PPIs and developed depression, and compared them with 9,464 people who took PPIs without developing depression.

The two groups were similar with regard to age, gender, and the amount of time for which the scientists observed them.

It turned out that those who developed depression used a higher dose of daily PPIs than those without depression.

This was especially true for people who took pantoprazole, lansoprazole, and rabeprazole, and less so for those who took omeprazole and esomeprazole.

And depression is not a small deal. The fatality rate of major depression is extremely high.

The researchers didn’t know exactly why this happened, but ventured two educated guesses.

  1. They thought it was possible that PPIs prevented people’s bodies from absorbing all the nutrients from their food, leaving them without the necessary nutrients for healthy psychological function.

  1. Alternatively, PPIs could disrupt the gut-brain axis, a term that refers to the way in which gut bacteria affects our psychological well-being. Since gut bacteria can boost or block levels of hormones and neurotransmitters in our brains, they can determine our psychological health.

This shows that it’s essential to use natural methods to cure acid reflux (GERD). Fortunately, this 5 min home remedy completely eliminated my long-lasting heartburn for good…

Eliminate Acid Reflux Symptoms – Acid Reflux Eliminated By Cutting Out One Food Item

If you have been suffering from acid reflux for some time, it’s likely you’ve developed a sense of some foods that worsen your pain.

A new study published in the Journal of the Formosan Medical Association pinpoints how cutting out just one food item can drastically reduce, even eliminate heartburn.

And you probably didn’t expect this item.

12 people with gastroesophageal reflux disease, an average age of 52 years, and a healthy body weight were given two liquid meals, one for lunch and one for dinner.

Meal A consisted of 500 milliliters of liquid containing 474.4 calories with 10.4 grams protein, 10.4 grams fat, and 84.8 grams carbohydrate.

Meal B also consisted of 500 milliliters of liquid but containing 850.4 calories with 10.4 grams protein, 10.4 grams fat, and 178.8 grams carbohydrate.

Three days before the study, they were given an endoscopy to examine their esophaguses and their esophageal sphincters (the valve that is meant to prevent reflux of stomach acid into your esophagus).

Throughout the study, they wore a pH probe with pH sensors connected to a digital recorder to test the level of acid in their esophaguses.

With all this information available, they could see that, compared with the lower-carbohydrate meal, the higher carbohydrate meal caused:

  1. A longer total reflux time
  2. More periods of constant reflux
  3. More reflux periods longer than five minutes, and
  4. More heartburn sensation and acid regurgitation.

Therefore, to relieve your symptoms, eat lower quantities of carbohydrates.

Eliminate Acid Reflux by Avoiding These 7 Factors

A new study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care researched lifestyle factors that contributed to acid reflux.

Eight factors that most people assumed would be the direct cause of acid reflux were actually found to have absolutely no effect.

Seven other easily avoidable lifestyle factors, however, were found to be the case of the majority of acid reflux cases.

The subjects for the study were 400 university students, with males comprising 56 percent of the group. They were given a gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire together with a questionnaire to record information like their sex, age, height, weight, habits, and typical diets.

An impressive 23.8 percent of them scored above the minimum score for acid reflux or GERD.

Male students were more likely than female students to suffer from acid reflux, and those with a family history of heartburn were more likely to have it.

Other causal factors were almost entirely under the student’s control.

These were:

  1. smoking,
    2. a high body-mass index that was above 25 kg/m2,
    3. fast-food consumption,
    4. tea consumption,
    5. carbonated beverages consumption,
    6. speedy eating,
    7. sleeping within an hour after dinner.

Surprisingly, the consumption of coffee, fried foods, and spicy foods had no effect, and neither did inadequate sleep, between-meal snacking, the amount of physical exercise, breakfast skipping, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory use.

Now if avoiding these seven factors is not enough, then you can use this simple home remedy to eliminate acid reflux in just five minutes. It contains three ingredients you already have in your kitchen and just takes five minutes to make…

Eliminate Acid Reflux – This Diet Is a Better Acid Reflux Treatment Than PPIs

This Diet Is a Better Acid Reflux Treatment Than PPIs [Proton pump inhibitors] are the standard treatment for acid reflux, but they have been linked with an increased long-term risk of stomach cancer, among other health problems.

As a result, we are always on the lookout for a treatment that is both safe and an effective remedy for acid reflux.

A new study published in the journal JAMA Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery may finally reveal the key to healing acid reflux.

And it comes in a form of a very healthy, popular diet, now proven more effective than proton pump inhibitors.

In the study, researchers examined medical records of people previously treated for acid reflux.

85 people with this condition were treated with PPIs and were given basic advice to avoid coffee, alcohol, chocolate, fatty foods, and spicy foods.

99 people were treated with the Mediterranean diet and alkaline water, combined with a similar list of foods and beverages to avoid.

The alkaline water had a pH above 8.0 and the Mediterranean diet was 90% plant-based.

All participants completed the standard Reflux Symptom Index before the treatment and six weeks after it started. A reduction of six or more points on the index means that the participant has experienced a clinically significant improvement in reflux symptoms.

In the PPI treatment group, 54.1% of patients experienced such a clinically significant drop in their symptoms.

In the diet change group, 62.6% of participants showed improvement that was clinically significant.

The average reduction in symptoms was 27.2% for the PPI treatment group and 39.8% for the diet change group.

This shows, firstly, that more people benefited from the Mediterranean diet and alkaline water combination than from the PPIs.

Secondly, the PPI treatment reduced acid reflux symptoms by a lot more than the diet change treatment managed to do.

But an even simpler way to eliminate acid reflux, is to use this 5-minute method to immediately rid yourself of acid reflux for good…

Eliminate Acid Reflux – A Scary-Sounding Acid Reflux Treatment (backed by a new study)

The journal Gastroenterology has just published a study revealing a very unusual but effective drug-free treatment for acid reflux.

And as scary as this treatment may sound, it’s actually quite safe.

The lower esophageal sphincter is the gatekeeper of your stomach.

In a healthy body, the lower esophageal sphincter opens when food needs to pass from the esophagus to the stomach and closes when no more food is coming. This prevents food and stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus.

If this sphincter is too weak to close or it opens at inappropriate times, your stomach acid and half-digested food will come back up into your esophagus, causing the burning sensation and inflammation with which sufferers are so familiar.

The authors of the new study noticed that some physicians had started using electrical stimulation of this sphincter to try to restore its strength and normal function.

In response, Endostim, one of the providers of the technology, set up a global registry to record all cases of people who had received the treatment.

By February 2018, the details of 268 people from seven countries had been recorded on this registry, giving scientists a good sample of study participants to evaluate for the effectiveness of the electrical stimulation treatment.

53% of them suffered from moderate or severe acid reflux. This number dropped to 23% after three to six months, and even further to 20% after one year of treatment.

70% of the treated people were able to give up proton pump inhibitors completely.

16 patients experienced adverse health events, and six had to have the devices removed. This shows that it is a fairly safe treatment that is simultaneously very effective.

Electrical stimulation of the lower esophageal sphincter works via a device that works a bit like a pacemaker. It is implanted and can easily be removed if it does not work.

It will not work for everyone with acid reflux, however, only for those people whose lower esophageal sphincters have become dysfunctional.

If implementing an electric device inside of you doesn’t sound too good, do not despair.
