What is the Best Way to Check Heart Blockage at Home?

Check Heart Blockage at Home - We all know that diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are on the increase. Medical professionals are still working on the precise reasons why this is the case. A new study published in Nature Medicine suggests that there is one main thing to blame. And the good news is that this one thing can easily be controlled. Read on to find out more.

Check Heart Blockage at Home – This Spikes Your Heart Attack Risk 800 %

By now most people understand that this is harmful.

But researchers at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Sheffield have just completed another study that spells out the risk in quite scary numbers.

And since one in five adults still do this, we must hammer home the point of this study.

Yes, if you do this ONE thing, you’re more than 800% more likely to suffer from a heart attack and/or stroke. Not only this, it’ll happen 10 years earlier than the average person.

Researchers examined the health information of 1,727 people who received treatment for heart attacks at South Yorkshire’s regional specialist cardiothoracic center.

The scientists analyzed patient information compared to non-smokers and discovered:

  1. Smokers younger than 50 were 8.47 times more likely to suffer from a heart attack.

  1. Smokers between ages 50 and 65 were 5.2 times more likely to suffer from a heart attack, and those over 65 only 3.1 times.

  1. Current smokers were 10-11 years younger than former smokers or non-smokers when the heart attack struck.

  1. Smokers were twice as likely to have a history of coronary artery disease (blocked arteries).

  1. Smokers were three times more likely to  suffer from peripheral vascular disease.

But since heart attacks is the most common cause of death worldwide, especially for people over 60, you must tackle the real underlying cause of one by cutting out this one ingredient you’re unknowingly consuming…

And if you have high blood pressure, lowering it, using these easy blood pressure exercises, is essential…

Check Heart Blockage at Home – Heart attack caused by your home address

This may sound ridiculous at first glance.

498 study participants provided their home address to researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital.

The researchers then did some calculations and made a shocking discovery.

A tiny difference in where the people lived increased their risks of various cardiovascular diseases by a scary 34%.

They published their findings in the European Heart Journal.

From these addresses, researchers calculated the amount of noise, such as traffic, trains, planes and factories they were exposed to every day.

At the beginning and end of the 5-year study, they scanned the subject’s brains and blood vessels – they wanted to see who would develop some form of cardiovascular disease.

They specifically examined the occurrence of heart failure, heart attacks, strokes, angina, the need for bypass surgery, and cardiovascular disease related deaths.

After removing other potential causes of heart disease such as air pollution, poverty, and unhealthy habits, researchers found that a five-decibel increase in noise levels led to a 34 percent increase in cardiovascular disease.

But why does noise cause heart disease?

The subject’s scans revealed the primary emotion-processing center of their noise-exposed brains, which is called the amygdala, was more active compared to the brains of the subjects who lived in quieter areas.

They also found a lot more chronic inflammation in the blood vessels of their noise-exposed subjects.

Scientists concluded constant noise activates your amygdala, which then activates your body’s stress responses. This leads to chronic inflammation everywhere – blood vessels included, thus resulting in heart disease.

Many experts suggest moving to another place if you can afford it, but that’s pretty drastic. Otherwise, buy a white noise device or play nature sounds inside your house to drown out the noise and help you relax.

Another method is to “reboot” your system using our simple blood pressure exercises. They have been proven to drop almost everyone’s blood pressure in as little as 9 minutes…

And if your cholesterol is too high, learn how to normalize it by cutting out ONE ingredient, you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Check Heart Blockage at Home – This One Thing Causes Cardiovascular and 50% of All Other Deaths

We all know that diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are on the increase.

Medical professionals are still working on the precise reasons why this is the case.

A new study published in Nature Medicine suggests that there is one main thing to blame.

And the good news is that this one thing can easily be controlled.

Researchers have discovered that there was a strong link between these diseases and systemic chronic inflammation.

Moreover, they estimated that 50 percent of all worldwide deaths are caused by systemic chronic inflammation.

Short-term acute inflammation is essential for our health. Such inflammation is your immune system’s way of killing bacteria and thereby of saving injured tissue that might be invaded and destroyed by bacteria. It also strengthens tissue.

But when inflammation becomes systemic and chronic, it causes a variety of diseases that contribute to the majority of disabilities and deaths globally. Such diseases include cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cancer, kidney disease, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, type 1 diabetes, Lupus, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease, and Huntington’s disease.

It’s also connected to psychological disorders like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and schizophrenia.

Environmental toxins can cause chronic inflammation. Typical toxins include air pollution, toxic metals and chemicals, plastics in our food, industrial chemicals, and even noise pollution.

Poor diet and obesity are also major contributors. The unhealthiest foods include processed carbohydrates, processed meats and refined vegetable oils.

Other key contributors to chronic systemic inflammation include lack of exercise, stress, and a number of common sleep disorders.

Educating yourself with the common associated risk factors is key to changing behaviors to prevent unnecessary deaths from inflammation-related diseases and conditions.

But education isn’t enough to prevent cardiovascular disease and other inflammation-related diseases – action must be taken.

How to Bring Your Cholesterol Down to a Healthy Level Without Drugs?

How to Bring Your Cholesterol Down to a Healthy Level Without Drugs? Baked goods are usually not considered to be very good for cholesterol and blood sugar. Bring Your Cholesterol Down to a Healthy Level Without Drugs -The Most Powerful Superfood On Earth Tackles All Health Problems

When researching various health issues, it’s unusual to have one particular ingredient named as being associated with preventing pretty much every health hazard you encounter.

But this superfood improves everything from arthritis to high blood pressure to diabetes to dementia. It also boosts your mood and energy levels better than any power or energy drink out there. You name it, and it can pretty much fix it.

What’s more, they’re delicious and sweet tasting, almost everyone loves them, and they’re used in various meals, and eaten raw as a snack.

Blueberries have reached somewhat of a celebrity status among super foods due to their widespread health benefits.

Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants, making them an extremely powerful food to fight any type of immune disease or other diseases caused by inflammation, which, let’s face it, actually includes the majority of known modern diseases today.

What’s unique about blueberries is how many types of antioxidants they include. Whereas most berries only include 3-4 types, blueberries include over 20 different types of antioxidants, which is quite the feat to beat!

For the science geeks, here are some we can name: Anthocyanins (malvidins, delphinidins, pelargonidins, cyanidins, peonidins), Hydroxycinnamic acids (caffeic acids, ferulic acids, coumaric acids), Hydroxybenzoic acids (coumaric acids), Hydroxybenzoic acids (gallic acids, procatchuic acids), Flavonols (kaempferol, quercetin, myricetin), pterostilbene, and resveratrol.

And pretty much all of the above antioxidants (don’t ask me to pronounce them) are also extremely effective for inflammation and therefore serve as a double whammy.

It’s probably the wide variety of antioxidants that are the reason why they work for so many different types of diseases and health issues – they seem to be able to reach pretty much any part of the body.

Adding powerful antioxidant foods into your diet is extremely important. You’ll never get the same health benefits from antioxidant supplements.

In fact, studies on supplements have resulted in very controversial results, whereas pretty much all studies on blueberries in the diet show a positive impact on various diseases.

Let me give you a few examples:

Memory Loss

Recently, several studies have shown the amazing benefits blueberries have on the cognitive system, especially in the elderly. Blueberries protect nerve endings in the brain from oxidization and therefore stop the degradation of some parts of the brain.

For the most powerful method to boost your memory and stop dementia, click here…

Cardiovascular Health

Blueberries have repeatedly been proven to lower overall cholesterol levelsraising HDL (good cholesterol) and lowering LDL (bad cholesterol).

They also protect the lining of the arterial walls and reduce clogging of the arteries. In short, they drastically reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

And to drop your blood pressure naturally without side effects, click here.

Blood Sugar and Diabetes

It may be surprising to you that blueberries are beneficial in regulating blood sugar; after all, they’re quite sweet. However, studies have shown that daily consumption of blueberries definitely helps regulate blood sugar levels. The high fiber level of blueberries counteracts their sweetness.

Since type-2-diabetes is also caused by inflammation and blueberries are a strong fighter of inflammation, they should be a daily super-food for anyone suffering from type-2-diabetes.

For more information on beating diabetes naturally, click here…

Arthritis

Having discussed all the anti-inflammation and antioxidant benefits of blueberries, it follows that they’re the power-punch to fight arthritis.

Studies on both humans and animals have shown that even a small amount of blueberries improves mobility.

For more information on fighting arthritis naturally, click here…

So how much should you eat daily?

Most of the studies mentioned above have used 1-2 cups of blueberries daily for a period of 1-3 months. Other studies have, however, indicated an increase in antioxidant benefits from using up to 3 cups of blueberries per day. That may be too many carbohydrates for those with type 2 diabetes, so just check with your doctor first.

You lose a lot of benefits from blueberries if you cook them. So preferably, you should try to consume them raw or frozen.

Don’t be afraid to consume blueberries even if you’re fighting body fat. The high levels of fiber will counteract the calorie count. Plus 3 whole cups of blueberries only include 245 calories – less than one Snickers bar! And, they’ll boost your energy and mood.

So, there you have it, probably the most powerful disease-fighting food on earth.

Bring Your Cholesterol Down to a Healthy Level Without Drugs -These Heart-Health Exercises Are Twice as Effective as Drugs

Heart attacks and strokes are caused by blocked blood flow in the heart and up to the brain.

To prevent this and improve cardiovascular health, doctors recommend a change in diet, exercise and then of course drugs (lots of drugs).

But there is a different, more natural method of treating heart disease. One so easy and effortless, it’s almost like doing nothing.

And now, a new study from Columbia University Irving Medical Center, published in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology has proven this easy method TWICE as effective as drugs.

Relaxation has been found to be an effective way of improving blood flow, so researchers decided to test whether transcendental meditation could be a useful addition to coronary heart disease treatment.

They recruited 56 people with coronary heart disease, including those who had recently had a heart attack, had coronary artery bypass surgery, or had suffered from chest pain.

They divided them into four groups:

– The first received treatment with exercise and healthy eating,
– the second received transcendental meditation,
– the third received meditation with exercise and diet,
– and the fourth received conventional drug treatment.

The blood flow to and from the hearts of the people in the transcendental meditation/cardiac rehabilitation group improved by 20.7 percent and the transcendental meditation group improved by 12.8 percent.

Exercise and diet treatment increased it by 5.8 percent, and with drugs 10.3 percent.

Why is this relaxation technique so effective?

Psychosocial stress worsens coronary disease. But decreased stress leads to decreased hormones, and therefore a drop in blood vessel inflammation. Hence, why transcendental meditation helps with the fight against cholesterol.

Bring Your Cholesterol Down to a Healthy Level Without Drugs – To Lower Cholesterol and Blood Sugar Bake This Way

Baked goods are usually not considered to be very good for cholesterol and blood sugar.

But a recent study published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science has found a way to eat your cake and lower your cholesterol and blood sugar as well.

And it’s all about how you mix your flour before baking.

Flour doesn’t have to consist of pure carbohydrates or starches. If you are gluten intolerant, or especially both vegan and gluten intolerant, you’ve probably already played around with nut and bean flours.

While this may sound alien to many of you, flour made from almonds, black beans, broad beans, chestnuts, chickpeas, hazelnuts, pinto beans, quinoa, soy, and white beans are commercially available from health shops. While the nut variety might be expensive, bean flour is pretty cheap.

Researchers wanted to know whether composite flour made from starch and beans was more heart healthy than one made purely from starches.

They recruited 39 subjects who were grouped according to age (15-26, 27-38, and 39-50).

They first put them on a steamed rice diet for four days that required them to eat 100 grams of white rice for breakfast every morning.

The next diet was a composite flour one for 16 days that required them to have 100 grams of steamed rice made from cassava roots and mung beans.

Over a series of days, they tested their participant’s blood for glucose, triglycerides, LDL, HDL, and total cholesterol.

There was a clear drop in glucose levels when eating the composite rice, suggesting it could be a solution for those who are susceptible to diabetes. And while the total cholesterol remained the same, HDL (good) cholesterol increased while LDL (bad) cholesterol decreased.

Scientists attributed the beneficial effects of the composite rice to arginine, an alpha-amino acid found abundantly in protein-rich foods. Previous studies had found that arginine could lower cholesterol.

If you want to try baking your breads and other baked goodies with composite flour, it is easier to start with bean flours, since they have no strong taste and add a nice buttery texture.

Here are some ideas:

For flat doughs like pizza, use 30-35 percent bean flour mixed with 65-70 percent wheat flour.

For bread, use 20-25 percent bean flour.

For batter when baking or frying, use 50 percent bean flour.

Use it as a soup thickener and creamer.

Bring your cholesterol down to a healthy level without drugs – BUT you can also normalize your cholesterol levels starting today and see results in less than 28 days by cutting out this ONE ingredient (you didn’t even know you were consuming)…

And for type 2 diabetes, here is how to reverse it in 3 simple steps…

What is the Best Way to Completely Eliminate Oxidized Cholesterol?

What is the Best Way to Completely Eliminate Oxidized Cholesterol? Completely Eliminate Oxidized Cholesterol - It’s a fruit loved by many and carries many health benefits. Scientists have previously found this fruit to be heart healthy and that it could reduce LDL cholesterol (AKA bad cholesterol). Completely Eliminate Oxidized Cholesterol – Riskiest Times for Heart Attack

You’re probably aware of many things you can do to minimize the risk of having a heart attack: eat healthy, exercise moderately, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, and more.

But did you know that heart attacks occur more frequently at a certain time of the day and during some specific activities? This is the time that you should pay extra attention to how you feel.

1) The early bird doesn’t just get the worm

A recent Harvard study revealed that your risk of heart attack rises by 40% in the morning. Morning is the time when your body wants you to be the most active.

Therefore, it loads you with adrenaline and other stress hormones, which increases your blood pressure, creates more demand for oxygen and forces your heart to beat harder.

Since most of us don’t drink much water during the night, your body is also partly dehydrated, which makes your blood thicker and harder to pump. All this puts strain on the heart.

One of the healthiest things you can do is drink a big glass of water first thing in the morning. Also, try to schedule things so you can take your time in the morning without stress.

2) Another Manic Monday

As if the mornings weren’t bad enough, Monday mornings are even riskier. An alarming 20% more heart attacks occur on Monday mornings than any other day of the week. This is, of course due to the stress of going back to work after the weekend.

If possible, try to wake up the same time every day of the week. Staying up late and then sleeping in on Saturday and Sunday morning and then having to wake up early on Monday puts quite a strain on your system.

Choosing a career where you love waking up to go to work is extremely helpful as well.

3) Stuffing your mouth stuffs your heart

The plaque in the arteries that causes heart attacks develops over many years. One meal is not going to suddenly cause narrow arteries. However, studies have shown that big high-fat high calorie meals put more strain on your system that constricts blood vessels, which can trigger heart attacks.

Indulging yourself in good food occasionally doesn’t have to be harmful. Just keep the portion sizes moderate and eat slowly.

4) On the Potty

Moving the bowels is one of the most private things we can do. Most of us want to have privacy and not be distracted. And we definitely don’t want to experience a heart attack at that point.

Bowel movements, however (especially if you’re constipated), put extreme pressure on the chest, slowing down the blood returning back to the heart.

To lower your risk of having a heart attack on the potty, make sure you eat enough fiber (at least 25 gr/day), drink enough water, and avoid stress.

5) Not all exercises are created equal

Exercising is one of the key elements to improve cardiovascular health and avoid heart attacks. Too much, too quickly, however, can have the opposite effect.

If you’re not in good physical shape, begin slowly with walking and light jogging. As your health and stamina improve, you can, and should, engage in more vigorous exercises to strengthen your heart.

Sex is, in the same way, extremely heart-healthy as long as the intensity is not more than the body can handle.

6) Any kind of stressful event

Surveys have revealed that most people fear public speaking above anything. The stress of standing in front of hundreds of people has taken many lives in the form of heart attacks.

Take precautions before doing anything you know creates anxiety in your space. If you’re afraid of flying, learn relaxation techniques before. If you have to speak in front of a crowd, practice with a small group first.

There are, of course, many other situations where heart attacks can occur. Always be aware of symptoms, especially if you feel any physical or emotional strain. And always be on the safe side; it’s better to call 911 with a false alarm than needing it after it’s too late.

However, it is best to never suffer from a heart attack in the first place.

Getting your cholesterol and blood pressure under control almost bulletproofs you against dying from a heart attack or stroke.

Completely Eliminate Oxidized Cholesterol -The Most Dangerous Cholesterol Eliminated with This Fruit

It’s a fruit loved by many and carries many health benefits.

Scientists have previously found this fruit to be heart healthy and that it could reduce LDL cholesterol (AKA bad cholesterol).

But a new study that has just been published in the Journal of Nutrition has now uncovered even more.

Apparently, this fruit can drastically lower another type of cholesterol, even worse than LDL cholesterol.

The scientists recruited 45 subjects, all of whom were overweight or obese and all of whom had high cholesterol.

They placed participants on a typical American diet for two weeks prior to the research so they could start with the same nutritional intake.

Each participant was asked to complete three diets in random order for a period of five weeks each:

A low fat diet that contained seven percent of its calories from saturated fat, 11 percent from monounsaturated fat, and six percent from polyunsaturated fat.

A medium fat diet that contained six percent of its calories from saturated fat, 17 percent from monounsaturated fat, and nine percent from polyunsaturated fat. (The monounsaturated fat consisted of high oleic acid oils).

A medium fat diet with exactly the same specifications as the one above, except the monounsaturated fat was obtained from a daily avocado instead of oleic acid.

At the beginning of the study and at the completion of each diet, they measured their participants’ overall LDL cholesterol, their large buoyant LDL cholesterol particles, their small dense LDL particles, their oxidized cholesterol, and their blood lutein.

As expected, the participant’s LDL and oxidized LDL cholesterol were lower after the avocado medium fat diet. Their lutein levels were also predictably higher.

This shows clearly that avocado helps lower cholesterol, not only by being a healthy monounsaturated fat, but also by being a strong antioxidant.

Oxidized cholesterol is overwhelmingly responsible for our current cardiovascular disease epidemic, and small dense cholesterol particles oxidize the most easily, which is why it is necessary to consume foods like avocado daily to prevent oxidation and this disease.

While consuming an avocado a day may help keep the doctor away, it’s still not enough to completely eliminate oxidized cholesterol. For that you need to cut out this ONE ingredient, you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Completely Eliminate Oxidized Cholesterol – This Cholesterol-Lowering Drugs Breaks Your Bones

This drug has been described as a miracle drug for high cholesterol. Some doctors even want to add it to our drinking water – at least make it mandatory for anyone over 50.

Almost everyone with high cholesterol is prescribed this drug.

But a new study from the Medical University of Vienna and published in Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases shows that these drugs increase your risk of a serious autoimmune bone condition by shocking 362%.

Your body breaks down your bones regularly to replace them with new stronger ones, but if it breaks them down quicker than they can be replaced, you are said to have osteoporosis. As a result, your bones are then too thin and brittle and break easily.

In 2006 and 2007, scientists collected all medical claims from almost 8 million Austrians. They isolated those who claimed for osteoporosis treatment and those who received statins for high cholesterol. They also picked people who matched them in age, sex and general health for comparison.

They were especially interested in those who had taken statins for at least one year; they wanted to see how long-term statin taking affected bone health.

They found that the statin-takers were on average 3.62 times more likely to have osteoporosis than non-statin-takers. Yikes!

The relationship between statins and osteoporosis was true for both men and women, but not for people taking very small doses.

In fact, those who took 10 mg or less per day had a smaller osteoporosis risk than the general population, but doctors almost never prescribe such a small amount.

Most statins started to pose a risk at 20 mg per day, making these drug takers almost twice as likely to develop osteoporosis.

A daily dosage of 40 mg saw the risk of developing osteoporosis skyrocket to over 5 times more when compared to people who didn’t take any statins.

So why does this happen?

During and after menopause, women are likely to develop osteoporosis because they have much lower levels of estrogen than at other times during their lives.

Estrogen is not the only sex hormone that has this effect; research shows that low levels of other female sex hormones, as well as low levels of testosterone in men, also play havoc with our bone density.

We usually think of cholesterol as something bad, but it is also a useful substance that is, among other things, one of the essential building blocks of sex hormones.

So, because statins artificially reduce our cholesterol, they interfere with the production of sex hormones, therefore raising the risk of weak brittle bones.

This is why it is a better idea to lower our cholesterol via natural methods like diet and exercise so that our bodies can reduce it in their own way.

Clogged Arteries Treatment – Can You Reverse Blocked Arteries?

Clogged Arteries Treatment – Can You Reverse Blocked Arteries? Clogged Arteries Treatment – High cholesterol is generally considered to be bad. Clogged Arteries Treatment – When Breathing Causes Heart Attack and High Blood Pressure

Research out of Italy recently has given scientists pause for thought…a pause in breathing, that is.

Looking at hospitalization records related to high blood pressure, heart disease and heart attack, scientists discovered that the essential act of breathing could actually cause those serious conditions.

In the study released out of Italy and presented at the Acute Cardiac Care Congress, scientists pointed the heart disease finger directly at air pollution as a key factor in high blood pressure, heart disease and even heart attacks.

Looking at a standard of measurement called PM10 or particulate matter measuring 10 micrometers or less in diameter, the researchers compared rates of heart disease-related hospitalizations to the amount of pollution in the air, as evidenced by the air’s PM10 rating.

Various kinds of particulate matter constitute pollution in the air we breathe and the biggest generators of it are factories and other types of industry or vehicle pollution.

Scientists found that for every increase of 10 micrograms in the PM10 rating of air quality, there was a 3% increase in the number of casualties recorded in hospitals for heart disease and heart attacks.

In the European Union, the environmental standards for safety are to not exceed PM10 of 50 micrograms per cubic meter. In the US, though, it is 3 times higher at 150 micrograms per cubic meter.

The environmental link points to clear evidence that what and how we breathe has a direct effect on our blood pressure health and helps to explain why high blood pressure affects a full quarter of the earth’s population, being more concentrated in areas that are more polluted.

Better blood pressure can be as simple as better breathing. Learn how 3 easy exercises drop blood pressure down to normal as soon as today with better breathing and other acts…

Clogged Arteries Treatment – When High Cholesterol Actually Prevents Clogged Arteries

High cholesterol is generally considered to be bad. It clogs up arteries and causes strokes and heart attacks.

A study from the New York University in the journal Circulation has however revealed a scene where high cholesterol is actually beneficial.

The consensus is that people with diabetes are more likely to have atherosclerosis, which is the hardening of the arteries because of a plaque buildup. This buildup is almost always caused by high LDL cholesterol, which is why it has been nicknamed the “bad cholesterol”.

This makes people with diabetes the hardest group in which to lower cholesterol, as they are already unusually prone to it.

Scientists believe HDL cholesterol (AKA the “good” stuff) removes LDL from our blood streams to the liver, from where it is broken down and then expelled from our bodies.

But in people with high blood sugar, like diabetics, the proteins and fats related to the high blood sugar reduces the type of HDL, called functional HDL, which actually removes LDL from our blood streams.

Mice with raised functional HDL were used in a new study to see whether their LDL could be reduced, and subsequently the risk of atherosclerosis risk.

Surprisingly, the LDL levels in the mice were much lower, but they also discovered more.

The increase in functional HDL reversed the atherosclerotic disease processes by 30 percent compared to the cholesterol-lowering drugs that the mice were already receiving.

This was not just because the HDL removed the LDL to the mice’s livers, but also because the HDL proved effective at reducing inflammation, which causes cholesterol-driven damage to our arteries.

So, by lowering inflammation inside the mice’s cholesterol plaque, the scientists reversed the main process that makes atherosclerosis so dangerous.

Increase HDL by adding plenty of fish, olive oil, beans, lentils, whole grains, nuts, flaxseed, chia seeds, coconut oil, and purple fruits and vegetables to your diet. Also, to be effective, it’s necessary to stop smoking, eliminate trans fats and refined carbohydrates from your diet, exercise daily, and avoiding ready-made packaged and canned foods.

Clogged Arteries Treatment – But most importantly, cut out this ONE cholesterol damaging ingredient that you had no idea you were consuming – this singlehandedly cleared out my 93% clogged arteries…

Clogged Arteries Treatment – The ONE Oil That Heals Heart Disease

This oil has been described as a miracle medicine for heart disease (and more).

But the scientific world has been mixed in their opinions.

Finally, a new study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association proves without a doubt that this cheap oil drastically reduces the risk of heart attack.

To ensure that their results were accurate, only randomized trials were carried out.

Researchers gave one group omega-3 supplements whilst the other group was given a fake supplement (placebo).

The results were interesting and quite contrary to previous studies.

It was found that people that took omega-3 supplements on a daily basis were 8 percent less likely to have a heart attack and coronary heart disease death, 5 percent less likely to have coronary heart disease, 7 percent less likely to die of cardiovascular disease, and 3 percent less likely to have cardiovascular disease. What’s more, the higher the dose of omega-3s, the lower the risk of any of the above events happening.

Strokes were the only thing they could not find an omega-3 benefit for.

While the researchers agreed that omega-3 supplements were great, they stated that eating fish and taking daily exercise were better.

In short, omega-3 supplements are beneficial when it comes to living a heart healthy lifestyle thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties; they are even more effective when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Lower LDL Cholesterol Fast Naturally – Cholesterol and Red Meat (A Shocking Study)

For decades, scientists have been telling us to eat less red meat, as it is rich in saturated fats, which cause high cholesterol (or so they say).

But new research from the University of Nottingham and published in Food & Function put this claim to the test.

And the results were shocking.

Researchers recruited 46 subjects who agreed to halve their red meat intake for 12 weeks.

Instead of red meat, they agreed to eat chicken, fish, or other meat substitutes. Pork and veal were both classified as red meats.

Alternatively, they simply halved their red meat portions.

Researchers tested their cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, and a wide range of other blood chemicals before, halfway through, and at the end of the intervention.

After 12 weeks, they found almost no significant drop in the cholesterol levels of women, except in those who started with the highest scores before the intervention.

On average, men’s cholesterol did drop by approximately 10 percent, with the largest reductions experienced by men being those with the highest scores before the intervention.

This was true for LDL and HDL cholesterol, and overall cholesterol scores.

At best, we can learn from this that we don’t have to turn vegetarian to reduce our cholesterol; just halving our red meat intake can reduce it by 10 percent or even more.

But that seems to be only half the lesson, as it didn’t seem to work for women at all, except for those who already had high cholesterol.

The reason for this is obvious. Saturated fat is not the cause of high cholesterol as doctors have been claiming for decades.

In fact, I dropped my cholesterol down to normal and cleared out my 93% clogged arteries by cutting out just ONE ingredient that I didn’t even know I was consuming

Be Aware of These Popular Herbal Remedies

Herbal remedies can be extremely powerful in tackling various diseases.

But be warned.

According to a new study from the University of Guelph’s Biodiversity Institute, you are at a 60 percent risk of getting completely different results than you expect.

And sometimes these herbal consequences can be lethal.

Almost 60 percent of herbal supplements investigated contained substances that were not listed in the ingredient list.

In one-third, the prime ingredient was replaced with a completely different product!

Almost 20 percent of the herbal supplements contained various unlisted fillers, such as wheat, soybeans, and rice.

The study investigated 12 companies that produce herbal supplements, and only 2 of them did not use any fillers, unlisted additives, or contaminants in their products (the authors did not, unfortunately, reveal which companies were good and bad).

Unlisted ingredients could pose serious health hazards to consumers.

Various herbal supplements are not recommended for long-term use and could interfere with other health conditions and ingredients.

Moreover, there is a high risk for people with allergies, as some products were found to be contaminated with walnut leaves and gluten.

This may explain why some studies have “proved” various herbal remedies useless for conditions, even if it’s a well-known fact that the true herb actually works.

In the US, there is still very little control over these herbal products. They are considered a dietary supplement and, unlike medicines, do not need the approval of the FDA.

Good advice is to not only carefully examine the herbal product you buy but also to research very thoroughly the reputation of the company that produces these herbal supplements.

Oftentimes it’s better to invest in a good-quality organic product than a cheaper product that only provides false security.

Here are tips on how to tackle various diseases without drugs or herbs:

Lower LDL Cholesterol Fast Naturally – Ideal Cholesterol Level (This Changes Everything)

We have all heard that it is healthy to have high HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).

But a study in the latest edition of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism now shows that this is only partly true.

Because this time the researchers were not just looking at heart disease.

They also looked at HDL cholesterol and diabetes

…and that changed everything!

The authors were interested in the effects of HDL cholesterol scores on the development of diabetes – not just in HDL scores measured once, but in HDL levels measured over several visits over four years.

For data, they used health information from the Korean National Health Insurance System. In their sample, they included the information of 5,114,735 adults free from diabetes, who had undergone several cholesterol tests between 2009 and 2013.

They immediately noticed that some of the subject’s HDL cholesterol varied from visit to visit, and from this data, they divided the subjects into four groups:

  1. People with low average HDL and low variability in their HDL scores from test to test.
  2. People with high average HDL and low variability in their HDL scores.
  3. People with low average HDL and high variability in their HDL scores.
  4. People with high average HDL and high variability in their HDL scores.

During around five years of observation, their subjects experienced 122,192 cases of diabetes, as defined by at least one insurance claim per year for a diabetes drug prescription.

They found that people with a high average HDL score and low variability in their HDL scores were the healthiest.

People with a low average HDL score or high HDL variability were the most likely to develop diabetes, and those with both a low score and a high variability had the highest risk.

Compared to the high average, low variability group:

  1. The high average, high variability group was 20 percent more likely to have diabetes.
  2. The low average, low variability group was 35 percent more likely to have diabetes.
  3. The low average, high variability group was 40 percent more likely to have diabetes.

This means that we should try to keep our HDL cholesterol stable and high to avoid diabetes. And the same is probably true for heart disease.

Eliminate Cholesterol Buildup in Arteries – Cardiovascular Health Ruined in 16 Breaths

We all know that smoking is a cardiovascular disease risk because of the tar that we inhale when the cigarette burns.

Up to now, one solution has been e-cigarettes because they give us a tarless way to inhale nicotine.

But as evidence is piling up around the danger of e-cigarettes, a new study in the journal Radiology reveals what may be the most terrifying results yet.

Because they can ruin your heart in 16 puffs.

E-cigarettes are battery-operated devices that convert a liquid into aerosol and thereby enable us to inhale nicotine and fruity and herby flavors that taste good.

To simplify the question about the heart health of e-cigarettes, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania decided to test plain e-cigarettes without nicotine or flavors.

They recruited 31 people between the ages of 18 and 35, none of whom had smoked e-cigarettes before. They then used an MRI to examine their arteries after taking 16 three-second puffs of an e-cigarette loaded with plain vape juice, consisting mostly of water and either glycerol or propylene glycol, the standard ingredients.

To check the flexibility of blood vessels, the scientists constricted the vessels of the thigh with a cuff and then measured how quickly the blood vessels expanded again for normal blood flow after they released the cuff.

Flexible blood vessels that contract and expand quickly for variable blood flow are healthy; stiff vessels that cannot expand to allow enough blood flow are unhealthy. That is basically what cholesterol does to your blood vessels that is so dangerous.

After inhaling the vape juice, the researchers observed:

  1. a 34 percent reduction in the ability of blood vessels to expand,
  2. a 17.5 percent reduction in peak blood flow,
  3. a 20 percent reduction in the oxygen carried by the veins, and
  4. a 25.8 percent reduction in the speed at which the blood returned to the normal flow after the cuff release.

This means that it is not only tar and nicotine that make smoking hazardous: the inhalation of vape juice from e-cigarettes causes less blood flow through our bodies, less oxygen in our blood, and stiffer blood vessels.

And this was from only 16 puffs. Imagine what happens if you smoke e-cigarettes day in and day out.

At this stage, it is not obvious why this is the case, as glycerol and propylene glycol are safe to eat. Our bodies obviously don’t like it when they are heated and inhaled.

The good news is that, whether or not you smoke, you can drop your blood pressure below 120/80 – as soon as today – using the simple exercises found here…

And if your cholesterol is too high and you want to eliminate cholesterol buildup in arteries , normalize it in days by cutting out this ONE ingredient you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Eliminate Cholesterol Buildup in Arteries – When to Lower Cholesterol (and if)

High cholesterol levels or, at least, cholesterol plaque buildup in arteries is proven to cause stroke and heart attack down the road.

And having high cholesterol is riskier as we age. It’s actually not that dangerous for young adults.

But when is the time to take action and tackle your cholesterol level?

A new study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology answers this.

Be warned: the results may shock you.

The authors collected data from six large studies that had followed their subjects over long periods, from young adulthood to later life.

This gave them the trajectories of 36,030 people’s low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, as well as their systolic and diastolic blood pressure scores from age 18 onward.

It also provided them with details of these same people’s later coronary heart diseases, heart failures, and strokes.

Armed with all this information, they could calculate whether high cholesterol and blood pressure during early adulthood posed a risk of heart disease later in life and whether action to lower cholesterol and blood pressure after age 40 reduces these risks.

These were their findings:

  1. Those with LDL cholesterol above 100 mg/dl between the ages of 18 and 39 were 64 percent more likely to have coronary heart disease when compared to people with LDL below 100 mg/dl during this period, even if they lowered their cholesterol after age 40.

  1. Those with systolic blood pressure readings of 130 (mmHg) or higher during early adulthood were 37 percent more likely to experience heart failure in later life than those with early scores lower than 120 mmHg.

  1. Those with diastolic blood pressure of greater than 80 mmHg during early adulthood were 21 percent more likely to have heart failure later in life than those with scores below 80 mmHg.

This seems to be depressing, as it appears to suggest that nothing you do after age 40 matters to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease.

But this is not true. Consider the following:

  1. While your later-life risk of coronary heart disease (clogged arteries) increases if your cholesterol is too high in young adulthood, your risk of stroke and heart failure does not increase significantly if your cholesterol was high in young adulthood but you lowered it after age 40.

  1. While your later-life risk of coronary heart disease increases if your cholesterol is too high in young adulthood, it increases even more if you do not lower your cholesterol after age 40.

This gives you two good reasons to continue working on your cholesterol when you are older than 40.

And what is the best (and easiest) way to eliminate cholesterol buildup in arteries and lower cholesterol levels at any age? Just cut out this ONE ingredient you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Eliminate Cholesterol Buildup in Arteries – Busted: Cholesterol Plaque NOT Caused By This Animal Fat

In the past three decades, science has been so inconsistent when it comes to the health risks of animal fats that consumers have been understandably confused about what to consume and what to avoid.

But a new study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has now decisively revealed that one type of animal fat is definitely not unhealthy for your heart.

In fact, those who consumed this fat moderately were 25 percent less likely to die than those who didn’t consume this fat.

The scientists examined data collected from the Italian cohort of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition study, also called the EPIC study.

They specifically collected the subject’s socioeconomic and demographic data, their health data, and information regarding their intake of milk (total, full fat, and low fat), yogurt, cheese, butter, and overall dairy calcium.

They specifically wanted to know whether dairy consumption increased their participant’s risk of dying prematurely of cardiovascular disease, cancer, or all other causes combined.

Following up after approximately 14.9 years, they found that 2,468 of their 45,009 participants had died, 59 percent of cancer and 19 percent of cardiovascular disease.

But they could find no difference in the death rates of consumers versus non-consumers of dairy products.

No type of dairy product puts its consumers at increased risk of death.

Not even full-fat milk.

Interestingly enough, when they compared people who consumed milk with those who consumed no milk, they found that people in the former group were actually 25 percent less likely to die of all causes than people in the latter group.

This was, however, only true for those who consumed between 120 and 160 grams of milk per day, not for those who consumed more than 200 grams per day.

Remove ALL Cholesterol Build-Up in Your Arteries – This Pet Corrects Cholesterol (that one doesn’t)

Several studies throughout the decades have proven that pets can improve stress levels and overall well-being.

But can pets improve cholesterol levels?

Yes, but only this one type of pet, says a new study published in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings: “Innovations, Quality & Outcomes”.

The authors wanted to answer two questions: firstly, whether pet ownership, in general, could improve our cardiovascular health and, secondly, whether dog ownership, compared to the ownership of other pets, could improve our heart health.

To investigate this, they consulted data collected by the Kardiovize Brno 2030 study.

This study first collected the health and socioeconomic information of more than 2,000 people in the city of Brno, Czech Republic in 2013. It is meant to run through several follow-up visits until 2030.

Using the information from the 2018-2019 follow-up visit, the researchers examined the information of 1,769 of the subjects and rated them on the American Heart Association’s Life’s Simple 7. These include body mass index, diet, physical activity, smoking status, blood pressure, blood glucose, and total cholesterol.

They also interviewed all these participants and asked them about their pet ownership status.

When comparing pet owners with non-owners, it initially seemed like pet owners had superior cardiovascular health, specifically with better diets, more physical activity, lower blood sugar, and higher HDL cholesterol.

But after running the numbers through the appropriate statistical measures, the researchers could not conclude that it was the pet ownership that caused better heart health, as education level and age seemed to have as big an effect on both owners and non-owners as pet ownership had.

They then compared dog owners with people who owned no pets and with people who owned a pet other than a dog; here, education and age did not interfere with the results.

Dog owners were more likely to engage in physical exercise and to eat healthy diets. They were also more likely to have a lower waist circumference and a higher HDL cholesterol score.

Therefore, pet ownership, in general, may not be heart-healthier than non-pet ownership, but dog ownership is certainly healthier.

But your dog alone won’t cure your cholesterol. In order to remove ALL cholesterol build-up in your arteries, you need to cut out this ONE ingredient you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Remove ALL Cholesterol Build-Up in Your Arteries – How Our High Cholesterol Hurts Others

Okay, we know that having cholesterol plaque causes stroke and heart attack. That, of course, harms us… or worse!

And we know that those who love us are going to be devastated if we suffer these serious events.

But, according to a new study published in The Condor, there is an unexpected, completely innocent, little thing that may be harmed even more by our high-cholesterol lifestyles.

And the results could be disastrous!

Because of a relative lack of trees and foliage in our cities, city dwellers attract birds by placing food in bird feeders. Larger birds also raid our trashcans and dumpsters to survive.

This led scientists to wonder whether our throwaway food is actually good for birds, and a team led by Hamilton College researchers set out to find out.

They tested the cholesterol of 140 crow nestlings in and around Davis in California, in various areas, which ranged from rural to urban. They found that urban crow-chicks had higher cholesterol than their rural cousins.

To discover whether this was due to the processed and fatty food that humans dump and throw out for them, the researchers left McDonald’s cheeseburgers near crow nests in rural New York.

When they tested the cholesterol of these crows, they found that those who had fed on the burgers had higher cholesterol than those who had fed on natural food sources.

In fact, their cholesterol was very similar to the cholesterol of the city crows, altogether around five percent higher than that of the rural crows who ate naturally available food.

This, of course, doesn’t just reveal crow health. This shows how the normal junk diet most people consume directly leads to high cholesterol in humans as well as animals.

And this is, of course, why so many people nowadays are dying from strokes and heart attacks.

Fortunately, there is a simple way to remove ALL cholesterol build-up in your arteries. All you need to do is cut out this ONE ingredient you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Remove ALL Cholesterol Build-Up in Your Arteries – Third Type Cholesterol (deadliest of them all)

We are usually told that cholesterol comes in two varieties—LDL and HDL.

But a new study in the journal Atherosclerosis reveals that health-wise, this is a short-sighted way of looking at it.

There’s a third type of cholesterol that you really need to pay attention to because it’s just as bad as the bad stuff you already know about.

Cholesterol travels around the body in your blood, in packages called lipoproteins. We usually talk about two types, called:

  1. LDL cholesterol. This is transported in low-density lipoprotein packages and is often called ‘bad’ cholesterol because it causes cardiovascular disease.

  1. HDL cholesterol. This circulates in high-density lipoprotein packages and is often called ‘good’ cholesterol because it transports bad cholesterol to your liver, which breaks it down for excretion.

But now there’s a third category (well, it’s actually been known about for a long time).

  1. Remnant cholesterol. This is transported in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (or fat particles if this lipoprotein stuff is too much of a mouthful for you). It’s another bad type of cholesterol because it causes cardiovascular disease too.

Up to now, scientists have ignored remnant cholesterol too much, because they thought there wasn’t all that much of it flowing in our bloodstreams. However, the new study has made them think again.

It shows that it’s more abundant than was previously thought, which makes it just as much of a heart disease risk as LDL is.

The authors looked at medical information from 9,293 participants in the Copenhagen General Population Study. This is a survey of 140,000 people who receive free health checks, investigating the causes of good and bad health.

They used a new and advanced measuring tool called metabolomics to check the cholesterol levels of their subsample.

The new tool showed that the subjects had roughly equal amounts of LDL, HDL, and remnant cholesterol in their blood, which came as a bit of a shock.

Remnant cholesterol levels were the same as LDL levels, which means there was twice the amount of bad stuff as they were expecting.

Previous research has shown that remnant cholesterol is a serious risk for heart attack and stroke, so we need to keep our remnant cholesterol levels as low as possible.

Clear Out Your 93% Clogged Arteries – How Your Phone Causes Heart Attack

Everyone loves their phone, and most of us couldn’t live without them.

But new research paints a grim health picture if you use them the wrong way. Especially for our heart.

It’s time to look at the dos and don’ts of smartphone usage—before it’s too late.

The study, presented at the American College of Cardiology 2019 Latin America Conference was led by researchers at the Simón Bolívar University in Barranquilla, Colombia.

They analyzed the smartphone habits and health of 1,060 health sciences faculty students at the university. The 700 males in the study averaged 20 years of age, and the 360 females averaged 19 years of age.

For the girls, there was a 63.9 percent that they were overweight and a 57.4 percent chance that they were obese. For the boys, that likelihood was 36.1 percent for being overweight and 42.6 percent for obesity.

26 percent of the subjects that were overweight and 4.6 percent who were obese used their smartphones for more than five hours per day, and here’s the headline figure: their risk for being obese increased by 43 percent!

The connection here seems to be that students who spent more time on their devices were around twice as likely as their peers were to eat fast food, drink sugary sodas, and not do enough exercise.

This seems really surprising when you remember that the subjects were health sciences students, people who should have been more aware than most about maintaining good health.

And worst of all, being overweight has some dire consequences such as cholesterol plaque buildup in the arteries and high blood pressure.

So regardless of your phone habits, if you’re concerned about your cardiovascular health:

Learn how cutting out just ONE ingredient (you didn’t even know you were consuming) can clear out your 93% clogged arteries…

And if you have high blood pressure, discover how 3 easy exercises drop blood pressure below 120/80 … starting today…

Clear Out Your 93% Clogged Arteries – Best Exercise for Heart Health Revealed (new study)

Being obese is the biggest risk factor for heart disease, partly because obese people have more fat hugging their hearts. But even slim people can have fat around their heart.

Exercise helps in the war on fat, but what kind of exercise is best for reducing heart fat?

JAMA Cardiology has just published a study that answers this question.

The fat around your heart can appear in one of two places. Epicardial fat appears in the tissue closest to your heart, while pericardial fat shows up in the cavity around your heart.

Both types are bad for you, but more time has been spent studying epicardial fat, so we know it’s a major risk factor for atherosclerosis, insulin resistance, high fasting glucose, and abdominal fat deposits, all of which are extremely unhealthy.

Pericardial fat is less well studied, but we know that it definitely contributes to atherosclerosis (which is when your arteries narrow, restricting and even cutting off blood flow).

The authors of the new study decided to find out whether endurance or resistance exercise was as good at reducing these harmful types of fat, as they were at reducing abdominal fat.

They split their 50 participants into three groups: a group that performed high-intensity interval endurance training three times a week for 45 minutes each, a group that performed resistance training three times a week for 45 minutes each, and a group that performed no exercise at all.

The endurance training consisted of exercise on a stationary bicycle, while the resistance group had to do weight training with medium-heavy weights.

Before the study, all the participants were inactive with a high body-mass index score and abdominal fat.

The scientists measured their cardiac fat via MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) during and after the study.

The endurance and resistance exercise groups reduced their epicardial fat by eight and nine grams respectively by the end of the study. The no-exercise group saw no changes.

The resistance exercise group reduced their pericardial fat by 34 grams, while the other two groups saw no change.

That’s an impressive result. It means that you should be doing some sort of exercise on a regular basis at the very least, but you shouldn’t just limit yourself to the usual ones like running and cycling.

Endurance work will improve your cardiorespiratory fitness, but it won’t make you stronger.

In comparison, resistance training will improve both, and now you know that it will reduce your dangerous heart fat too. We’d call that a pretty good return on your effort!

The best approach is to give both these types of exercise some room in your training routine to keep you fit and to keep your heart healthy.

But if you really want to crack down on the cholesterol buildup around your heart, discover how cutting out ONE ingredient can clear out your 93% clogged arteries…

Clear Out Your 93% Clogged Arteries – The Tasty Treat that Cuts Blood Pressure and Cholesterol

Bad food tastes good. That’s part of the reason why it can be so difficult to beat conditions like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It’s unfortunate that your cardiovascular health is not best friends with many of the sweet things in this world.

But if you do have a sweet tooth then we have some good news for you, because there is one fabulous feelgood food that tastes great and can still help your health.

It can help make your heart healthier, reduce your blood pressure, cut your bad cholesterol, ramp up your brain activity and even pep up your love life.

Well, it shouldn’t be too surprising that chocolate is healthy given that it starts life as cocoa beans, which are loaded with flavanol. Flavanol is an antioxidant, one of those Swiss army knives of health that stops blood clots, boosts blood flow to the heart and brain, reduces high blood pressure, and lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke.

But it’s not the only antioxidant that cocoa beans are choc full of. There are even more of these helpful substances which are so beneficial to vascular health, and which also take the fight to free radicals—the harmful molecules which contribute to oxidation in the body.

Increased oxidation opens the way for LDL cholesterol—the bad sort—to start forming plaque on the arterial walls. As a result, they become narrower and more rigid, which is a perfect recipe for heart attack and stroke.

There are many things in the environment that can cause damage to the body, like pollution, cigarette smoke, and even too much sunlight, and antioxidants help to mop up the effects of all of them, before they can do their damage.

But it isn’t just the free radicals that help put chocolate on a par with health foods. There’s also the fat content. The majority of fat in chocolate comes from cocoa butter, which contains oleic, palmitic and stearic fatty acids (and you’ll find Oleic acid in olive oil too). It’s monounsaturated, which means it is heart-healthy and a proven blood pressure reducer.

The palmitic and stearic fatty acids are saturated fats, but still, research has found that they don’t hurt your cholesterol levels, which is odd but welcome news!

It’s now well established that chocolate can lower stress levels and improve a person’s sense of well-being and happiness. This is probably down to the fact that it’s great at boosting the production of endorphins, the brain’s natural happiness chemicals. And you also get serotonin in the mix, the body’s own antidepressant, too.

It’s worth mentioning that the brain releases these happiness chemicals when we’re in love, so when people say that they love chocolate, they really do mean it.

The only fly in the ointment with chocolate is the high sugar content. That’s why we’d recommend dark chocolate over milk chocolate every time. Choose the dark stuff with at least 65% cocoa content. Current research leads us to believe that 3 ounces (85 grams) of chocolate a day will give you all of the health benefits without the sugar rush.

Avoid Stroke and Heart Attack – How Paleo Cause Stroke and Heart Attack

Diets seem to come and go all the time, but the paleo diet has been going from strength to strength.

Have you felt tempted to try it?

If you’ve adopted “the caveman diet” for heart health reasons, then a new study in the European Journal of Nutrition might come as a shock to you.

For those who don’t know, the paleo diet promotes foods that hunter-gatherers would have eaten more than 10,000 years ago (in the Paleolithic era—hence the name) things like fish, lean meats, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds. It forbids foods like dairy products, grains, legumes, potatoes, added sugar, salt, and processed foods.

The new study—carried out by researchers from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia—investigated the effect of the paleo diet on gut health, since previous studies contradicted each other on this issue.

They recruited 47 people who had eaten a relatively healthy diet for the previous 12 months, together with 44 people who had eaten a paleo diet for at least the previous 12 months.

The paleo group was divided into a strict paleolithic group that consumed less than one serving of grains and dairy per day and a pseudo-paleolithic group that consumed more than one serving of these food groups per day.

Unsurprisingly, they found that the paleo groups were eating more fat than the other groups and that the strict paleo group consumed the most protein. They also discovered that the paleo dieters were not short of fiber, as one may have expected, given the lack of grains and legumes on their plate.

Still, that wasn’t enough to save the paleo crowd, as their blood, urine, and stool samples revealed a few unsavory truths.

Firstly, they had much more trimethylamine-n-oxide (TMAO) in their blood than the other subjects. TMAO is a compound that’s produced in our intestines, and too much of it spells bad news.

Almost all the research up to now says that it’s a major heart disease risk.

The TMAO levels were highest in the strict paleo group, the people that consumed almost no grains at all, so their heart disease risk goes way up.

So rather than Paleo, cut out this ONE ingredient (you didn’t even know you were consuming) to avoid stroke and heart attack…

Avoid Stroke and Heart Attack – The Tasty Treat that Cuts Blood Pressure and Cholesterol

Bad food tastes good. That’s part of the reason why it can be so difficult to beat conditions like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It’s unfortunate that your cardiovascular health is not best friends with many of the sweet things in this world.

But if you do have a sweet tooth then we have some good news for you, because there is one fabulous feel good food that tastes great and can still help your health.

Avoid Stroke and Heart Attack – Shingles Increases Your Risk of These Two Deadly Conditions

A recently published study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology shows that people at risk of shingles are also at risk of heart attacks and strokes because of the virus that causes shingles.

Shingles comes from the Herpes Zoster virus. It first causes chickenpox, usually in childhood, then it bides its time, lying dormant in your body until it shows up as shingles when you’re older.

But how does it cause stroke and heart attack?

The authors of the new study used medical data relating to South Koreans. This gave researchers extensive demographic and medical information for 570,000 people.

519,880 of them were observed between 2003 and 2013 and in that time 23,233 were diagnosed with the Herpes Zoster virus, primarily because they developed shingles.

The scientists created a comparison group with selections based on demographic and medical information.

The shingles group suffered 1.34 more strokes per 1,000 person-years than the non-shingles group did. They also suffered 0.8 heart attacks more per 1,000 person-years than the non-shingles group did.

The risk was highest for people under 40 and for those who had had shingles in the past year.

The fact that the youngest people with few cardiovascular disease risk factors experienced the highest risk was surprising, as we would usually expect older people with clogged arteries and higher blood pressure to experience strokes and heart attacks.

The authors looked at previously published studies to help them suggest why shingles might increase the risk of cardiovascular problems.

When active, the Herpes Zoster virus can replicate right next to arteries. This causes inflammation in those arteries which, in turn, can cause them to block or burst.

Even when dormant, the virus is constantly reactivated at a level that causes no symptoms. When this occurs next to arteries, the same thing happens.

The virus tends to move through your nervous system to the center of your body, where you have the largest arteries.

The virus increases both your blood pressure and negative emotions.

The virus compromises your immune system, which then puts you at risk of medical problems, including cardiovascular ones.

This all points to why we should live healthy lifestyles. Being healthy is the best way to be ensure that your immune system is strong enough to resist the shingles virus. It tends to attack people who are older with weaker immune systems, so the healthier and stronger we can keep ourselves, the better we can resist it.

Get Rid of Clogged Arteries Symptoms – Omega 3s and Heart Health —What We Missed

We’ve been told for years to eat more polyunsaturated fatty acids, like the omega-3s and omega-6s to lower cholesterol and improve heart health.

But now a new study in the journal Communications Biology has found two huge flaws in all the previous research, so what should you be eating now?

You’ll find omega-3 fats in all fish, especially mackerel, salmon, sardines, lake trout, herring, anchovy, and tuna; and in plant sources like flaxseed, chia seed, hemp oil, walnut, fresh basil, and dried oregano.

Most of the omega-6 fats we eat can be found in soybean oil, corn oil, grape seed oil, poppy seed oil, safflower oil, and sunflower oil. We fry in them and they’re added to almost all the packaged, canned, and partially pre-prepared products we buy too.

Our bodies can’t make enough to keep us healthy, so we need to get our supplies from food.

Lots of studies have claimed that the ratio between them is important: higher omega-6 and lower omega-3 is bad for us, they say.

But the authors of the new study spotted two huge flaws in these studies:

The first is people. We’re usually quite bad at remembering what we eat and drink.

The second is that we don’t always know how much of these oils is really in the foods we eat because it can vary a lot.

Actually, there is also a third, smaller flaw, which is that some health conditions can affect how much of these two fats the body absorbs.

The researchers wanted to study how Omega 3s and 6s affected health without having to worry about these questions, so they manipulated the genes of mice in different ways. They bred some that produced different amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 regardless of what they ate, and they also used a sample of normal mice for comparison.

The results? The mice that overproduced omega-6 compared with omega-3 had higher rates of cancer and metabolic disease. Metabolic disease includes not only diabetes, but also high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Their livers were unhealthier, and they had a lot more of the gut bacteria that cause chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is a huge contributor to cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease.

The mice who could convert omega-6 to omega-3 did not suffer from these health problems.

The unhealthy mice had the same omega-6 to omega-3 ratio found in the typical 21st century Western diet, which means it’s probably too blame for much of the heart disease epidemic.

So, the researchers actually confirmed that despite the flaws in their studies, the advice from previous research was correct.

Which means:

  1. Avoid vegetable oils and foods made with them.
  2. Eat the omega-3 sources listed above.
  3. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, as most of them contain more omega-3 than omega-6.

This approach will bring down your omega-6-omega-3 ratio and you’ll have a much healthier heart.

But if you really want to get rid of clogged arteries symptoms and bring down your cholesterol level, you need to cut out this ONE ingredient you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Get Rid of Clogged Arteries Symptoms – Cholesterol and Eggs (myth buster)

Eggs are a fantastic source of protein and a great alternative to the usual selection of meats, but for the longest time they’ve picked up lots of bad press for their high cholesterol content.

Nutritionists and others have often warned against consuming more than 2 eggs per week, but are they really that bad for us?

It’s still not uncommon for someone to argue that eggs are unhealthy, but recent research done by the University of Grenada may have finally unscrambled all the misinformation about eggs.

The researchers found that serum cholesterol (meaning cholesterol found in the bloodstream) is not increased by consuming eggs—even for people who weren’t very active—and a far greater risk for raising your cholesterol levels is eating too many trans and saturated fats over the long-term.

In fact, if you sit eggs side-by-side with fried and processed foods, say the researchers, there’s just no competition. Eggs are miles better for you.

If you want to avoid anything then avoid red meat, because those with a meat tooth had the worst cholesterol numbers.

Eggs are nutritional powerhouses, which is hardly surprising when you consider what they were designed for. Nature packed in a lot to give chicks the best start in life, so as well as all that protein, they contain Magnesium, Vitamin A, potassium, and calcium, too.

They also feature choline, which is essential for optimal brain function, and two powerful antioxidants called lutein and zeaxanthin, which are also beneficial for keeping your vision healthy.

The real trick to get rid of clogged arteries symptoms and drop cholesterol to a healthy level is to cut out this ONE ingredient, you didn’t even know you were consuming…

Get Rid of Clogged Arteries Symptoms – The New Technology for Heart Attack Detection

Smart speakers that run Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, or Cortana are becoming increasingly common in our homes. Some people love their ease and convenience, while others think that George Orwell’s 1984 has come true, and that these are tools designed to spy on us.

Emotions run high about the pros and cons of this new technology, but what if your smart speaker could save you from a heart attack, while it’s happening?

As a new study in the journal Npj Digital Medicine suggests, your smart speaker will one day be able to hear you having a heart attack and save your life by calling for help.

According to the American Heart Association, almost 300,000 people die in the United States every year after having heart attacks outside of hospital. At least two thirds of these happen at home, and the most common place they happen is in the bedroom.

The new technology hinges on the fact that the smart speaker is such a good listening device. A heart attack causes low oxygen levels that leave you gasping for air. You make a guttural sound that’s called “agonal breathing” and it tells the smart speaker very clearly that you’re in trouble.

University of Washington scientists got hold of 162,911 calls during which bystanders had held a phone up to an unconscious heart attack sufferer’s mouth. From these calls, they made 236 different audio clips.

They programmed these clips into a range of smart devices and used further machine learning techniques to expand the data set to 7,316 clips.

They then played these agonal breathing clips to smart devices to see whether they could recognize a heart attack when they heard it.

To make it even more challenging and realistic, the researchers played these clips at various distances from the smart devices, and with other frequently heard home sounds cluttering up the background like air-conditioning, cats, dogs, and car horns.

It sounds tough, but the system was well trained. Researchers collected 7,305 sound clips from sleep studies that included snoring, sleep apnea, and the like to add to what it could recognize.

After giving the smart devices time to learn from all those sounds, they were able to correctly identify a whopping 97 percent of heart attack cases. A phenomenal result!

They only made mistakes in 0.14 percent of cases, confusing sleep noises with agonal breathing.

But even that great result improved when the researchers changed the rules of identification slightly. As soon as it was decided that agonal breathing could only be diagnosed when the speakers heard two of the suspected breathing noises, 10 seconds apart, the results jumped to an amazing 100 percent accuracy.

So, how would this system work practically?

In the future, the service would run as an app on a smart device. It would listen to you round the clock and when triggered it would sound the alarm for someone else in the house to come and help you, or it could even dial emergency services if you were alone.

This service is still a long way from becoming widely available, but the researchers are serious about bringing it to the market someday.

Before that can happen though, they need to work on expanding their database of heart attack sounds so that they can train the system to become more accurate.
